Payton had a bad line but also had Marvin, Gonzales, Clark and Wayne to take the pressure off. Take away Payton and I beleive they still make the playoffs with a QB like, Pennington or Anderson. He has too many Weapons.

Williams - Has an elite WR and a talented veteren Qb. Something that Peterson doesn't have. Lets not even talk about his O - line.

Turner - Solid QB, Elite WR

If it comes to the most valuable. It has to be Peterson. He lacks the TDs but take him away from our team and we don't win 5 games. CT is great but everyone forgets the games that Peterson willed us to victory. No player in the league means more.
    Good post!

As a NFL fan (and not a Vikings fan).....

    a. Lacks TD's.
    Turner has more.
    b. To many fumbles.
    c. Gets taken out alot for passing downs.

    Next year my friends.
Just to many detractors this year.

In reading many other articles I read much the same thing. Peterson is never even mentioned in King's article.
    Matt Ryan!?
    Seriously?

    What's next? Kerry Collins?

Re: Peterson gets no love for MVP

When you take the rest of the team into consideration:

DeAngelo has a QB Delhomme 84.7
    rating and Steve Smith
Turner has a QB Ryan 87.7 rating 3440 yds 16 TD's and Roddy White 88 rec for 1382 yds

So to me it's a choice between Payton and AD
Peyton didn't have a rushing attack Addai and Rhodes had 500's each but did have good receivers

    What does AD have:
    Gus Ferotte
    73.7 rating 2157 yds 12 TD's
    TJ now has 95.6 for 1056 9 TD's
    BB 48 rec for 964
AD faced 8 or 9 men in the box every game.

Both Peyton and AD were handicapped by not having a balanced offense, thus I would consider them over the other canidates.

My vote is for Peyton, because of coming back from off season surgery and the 9 game winning streak.

    Peyton should get it

The media has a man crush on him

    Harrison is declining

The D is not so good

    The o-line is bad

They won 9 in a row to get into the playoffs

My guess is Peyton gets it in a landslide cuz of the Manning love

Love AD and think he is the best back in the NFL but I don't think he deserves MVP. 7 backs have more rushing TD's, 4 more have more TD's when you include recieving, another 6 are tied with him at 10. Plus 6 recievers that have 10 or more TD's. TD's are a huge stat for a running back, it's something AD and the offense need to improve if he is gonna win MVP each of the next 5 years like I suspect.
