Peterson gets no love for MVP

Peter King of SI doesn't even rate him in the top five. Here's King's picks:
I'm going with James Harrison at five, DeAngelo Williams four, Chad Pennington three, Matt Ryan two. And Peyton Manning one
    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/peter_king/12/29/Week17/index.html

(It's near the bottom of page 1)

In reading many other articles I read much the same thing. Peterson is never even mentioned in King's article.

I love the kid i really do.. he has the best attitude and loves the game. But, this year he does not deserve the MVP. Those fumbles in the Lions games and the Atlanta games almost and DID cost us games. To be an MVP you cannot hurt your team, but must always be the most valuable player on that team.

AD was my choice for the first 3/4 of the season but having just as many fumbles as touchdowns will mess that up.

    Peyton definitely deserves it....

I think Deangelo completely deserves to be on the list , he had a great year.

And that's typically the definition of an MVP.

If you remove a player from your team, how does that significantly change your team?

    While AD had 245 more yards than Williams, Williams had 18 TD's & 0 fumbles. AD had 10 TD's & 9 fumbles.

I think it's safe to say that Williams did more for the Panthers, than AD did for the Vikings.

I certainly would not say that DeAngelo at 4 is a joke.

Re: Peterson gets no love for MVP

Two weeks ago All Day was the pick ... but two weeks later and some VERY prominent fumbles and he bounced himself from the race. Peyton is going to win far and away and DeAngelo should be in the mix.
I am stunned that Philip Rivers is not mentioned more ... his numbers are absolutely great this season.
