Peterson Dropped the ball at the 1
OK i rewatched the tape over and over and over, AD is fool..he dropped the ball at the one.. Why cant these people wait until they get into the endzone to drop the ball? is it soo cool to throw the football up as soon as you cross the line?
Heres the tape, i pray he doesnt do this in the playoffs

Re: Peterson Dropped the ball at the 1
I agree. Just carry the thing another few feet, what does a football weigh, a pound more or less?
There was another game that someone dropped it noticably before the goal line. I forget if it was college or pros.
Re: Peterson Dropped the ball at the 1
It's nothing more than the angle at which you are watching it from. He was over the line before tossing the ball over his shoulder.
If he had chucked that ball over his shoulder at the 1, it would have fell to the ground at the 2 or 3 YL. Where it did fall to the ground was at least 4 yards deep into the endzone.
Watch it again & pay attention to where the ball lands. It lands on the top right corner of the "S" in VIKINGS.
Then I'd like for you to explain your "magic ball" theory of how that happened if he dropped it at the 1.
Re: Peterson Dropped the ball at the 1
He was in the end zone ... I don't even think it really looks close ... that angle just looks a little funny.
Also ... even if he may not have been ... a Giant did not recover it ... so at worst it would be our ball on the one.

If he had chucked that ball over his shoulder at the 1, it never would have fell to the ground about 4 yards deep into the endzone, which it clearly did. It would have fell to the ground at the 2 or 3 YL.

I don't disagree that he was in, but is quite a bit of momentum on that ball. He basically throws it straight up in the air, so with his size and speed it will carry forward a couple of yards.

He didn't "chuck" the ball over his shoulder.
He threw it up while he was moving and the ball continued forward; momentum helped the ball land deep in the endzone.
I agree that he was probably in but if you look closely he let the ball go right as his foot was on the line which means the ball couldn't have been across by much.
It's stupid that it was even that close.
I just hope the coaches noticed it and rip into him a little bit...it should never be that close.
Imagine if that was why we didn't make the playoffs.

Simple, Newtons first law of physics.
If an object is moving, it will not slow down or change directions unless another force makes it.
The ball had forward momentum, because peterson was running with it, if he throws it straight up, it will sill go forwards, as well as up.
Try it yourself, run full speed, then throw a ball straight up, i bet it will land past the point that you threw it.
If you need more proof, here's a pic, its not great quality, but you can see him tossing the ball as he's very close to the goalline.
I remember rewatching that replay about 8 times, because i thought he threw it before he crossed the line too, it was hard to tell with the angle given, but it looked very close.

That was really close.
Was anyone else dissapointed that Peterson was in the game at that point?
I wish we would've had Taylor in right there.
I bet he would've got a TD as well because it was really well blocked.

Nice pic, that ball is coming out. thats a fumble. i hope the coaches tore him a new one on that.

I highly doubt anybody was wishing peterson was sitting, since we got the TD.
AD has the speed on CT, and if you look carefully, he beat the safeties who had an angle on him, I'm not confident that CT would have been able to do that.
