If it is a team sport then why do some think Favre will crumble in his "typical" end of the year fashion and ruin this team?

Wellllllll, in defense of those "Some"......It isn't like there hasn't been a precidence set.

Can't get the link to work. Keeps going to the Portis article. Anyway, it has a nice stat in there that breaks down INT vs TD....

    Year TD/INT (First 11 games) TD/INT (last 5)
    2005/2006 19/19 1/10
    2006/2007 14-10 4/8
    2007/2008 22-8 6/7
    2008/2009 20-11 2-9
    2009/2010 24-3 2-2

Some of the "Some" actually do look around a bit before making brash assumptions.

On a side note, I saw this and almost posted it, however, I had already put up two bleacher report links. Thought a third would be to many.

    Re:Percy Harvin vs. Adrian Peterson

    To me,
Percy Harvin is a very good player, perhaps the rookie of the year for offense. he runs crisp routes, has good hands, and gets tough yards after the catch. But Adrian Peterson makes that all possible for every linebacker and safety is looking in at Peterson giving that extra split second for Harvin to make separation.

Further, the Vikings have the triangle this year. (No, I'm not talking about the Tiger Woods debacle.) But a stellar QB, RB, and receiving corps.

When the 49ers won all their super bowls, Montana, Rice, and Craig were a big reason why. When the Cowboys won their super bowls, Aikman, Smith and Irvin were a big reason why. Hell, even the Buffalo Bills in losing four straight super bowls had Kelly, Thomas, and Reed.

Now the Vikings have Favre, Peterson, and Harvin, (Or insert Sidney Rice in his place)

Once Childress learns how to adjust to the flow of a game, the offense is seriously unstoppable.

So my pick is Peterson of course.....

That is some crazy - not to mention scary - numbers you have there.
Those numbers - plus Favre's poor performance last week - tells me that it's time to rest Favre a little before the postseason starts.

It's time to get the running game going and transform back to the good ol' run first team we were last season. We have to excellent running backs that can carry the ball twice as much as they did last week. I also suggest that we start Favre against the Bengals this week. If we win, then start Favre in the first quarter, but let Tarvaris or Sage manage the rest of the game so Favre can rest.

Sid the Kid may have a slight edge on Percy ... but CT has nothing on Adrian. Not even close ... never has been.

But whatever ... you can make another fool-hardy statement and go with it ... Not going to get into with folks that make outlandish statements just to make outlandish statements.
