Percy Harvin leading the league in avg kick return yards
Only person above him is Josh Cribbs, with 5 more attempts and 1 more yard.

Pretty sick if you ask me.

Re: Percy Harvin leading the league in kick return yards
He's not really leading the league then.
Total yards is not the stat to look for; does not tell the complete story.
Average is the stat.
The reason why Cribbs is up there is because the other teams score all over Cleveland.
Naturally they are going to get a lot of kick offs.
Now average, Percy is #1.
Granted that one dude ahead of him.
However, he only returned 1 and it happened to be a decent one.
Also, the big TD run by PH helps out a lot of the average.

Re: Percy Harvin leading the league in kick return yards
TECHNICALLY he isn't leading the league in return yards, you give him one more attempt though and he'd blow past Cribbs.
Average though, I think Percy can keep this up the whole season.
Reynaud is #2 in avg punt return yards too.
Special team is looking goooood.

The return game is nice but we still need help covering kicks and punts, as well as blocking on FG and XP."There are 3 things that sell in America:

Again, total return yards mean dick.
Average is the key.
If he can take more to the house he can keep up that average.
Thats a very high average and going to be hard to keep there.

I didn't see anything wrong with kick or punt coverage so far besides the one in the browns game."Purple_Jesus" wrote:

Re: Percy Harvin leading the league in avg kick return yards
What I like is Percy's initial burst, he's past the 20 in a blink.
He doesn't pussy foot around looking for a hole.
He explodes towards them and makes decisions once he sees the whites of the defenders eye's.
Feels for the seem rather than look for it and is confident that he can break a arm tackle thus doesn't try and step around a defender whose out of position, he powers through them.
In short, I like his style.

Re: Percy Harvin leading the league in avg kick return yards
i like him back there too.
He takes them out from the endzone, which shows confidence, and also the confidence the coaching staff has in him.
His average right now is key.
If we can keep starting with excellent field position, after punts, kickoffs, and defensive takeaways, we should be very good.
Win the battle of field position and you win the war....most of the time
