Re: Five Reasons the Vikes Will Win
THIS is what I like:
The team is jelling- Unlike the stupid commercial, they aren't "gellin' like a felon." However, the Minnesota Vikings ' offensive line finally seems to be coming together. All season, the players and coaches warned it would take some time. And week after week, fans moaned and groaned about the so-called subpar play from a line expected to be dominant. It seems as though the time has finally come.
Last week, the penalties that have ravaged the unit and the remainder of the offense disappeared. Playing on the road, in arguably the toughest stadium in the NFL, the line, for the first time this year, committed zero pre-snap fouls. Zero false starts. The line also recorded just one penalty, a hold on right tackle Marcus Johnson.
As a team, the Vikings were flagged just five times, a remarkable difference from earlier in the season. Against a stout run defense, the line opened up holes for Chester Taylor, allowing for the back to tally 169 yards on the ground. They protected quarterback Brad Johnson well, and the offense played its best game of the season, scoring three touchdowns enroute to 31 points.

The thing I liked about this article was that the advantage was given to the Vikes in both the categories of defensive and offensive lines. If the old adage that the battle being won in the trenches holds true (and it should), then the Vikes will undoubtedly prevail.

Re: Patriots-Vikings Preview
I think between the offensive and defensive lines we're going to beat them up tonight. If we can stop Maroney and make them one dimensional, then we can beat them. I know Brady is a great quarterback, but if we can bring the dogs by making them a pass only team, he's going to be looking at that fiberglass roof for most of the nght.
