You beat me to the punch. I dont think he will leave after what he is getting paid. Thats my opinion
I wonder why the Vikings didn't show much interest in re-signing him.
He seems to be playing as well as ever.
A four year deal may be a bit much given his age, but I'd hate to see him go.
Hopefully his agent is bluffing.

I'm sure they had a lot of interest in resigning him. They just weren't willing to cough up the money he and his agent wanted. It will be interesting to see how his play is this year. I pity him if he get's injured and has turned down the Viking's deal.Quote:

we will resign him during the season, if they see the production not go down and him still being a dominant player i dont see why they wouldnt
Too bad we'll franchise his fat ass.
Sorry Pat but don't fuck with our Front Office.
I think they're taking the safe road too...If he's looking even better with his slimmer weight, they'll make it happen during the season.
I'd hate to see him hurt or moving on.
That agent is pissed now, but really, it is still up to Pat to decide if he wants to play in MN, like he's said before.

Sometimes I think they really pressure the players into doing things they wouldn't normally do...
I guess that is part of their job, ensure they get the big bucks.
This agent screwed up big time in my estimation. Pat at 35 still has a year to go on his contract. Why would the Vikings or any other team think he is worth the new prevailing wage for defensive linemen until he shows what he can do this season.
Don't get me wrong. I love what he can do for the Vikings. But when you start talking business, it's a whole different story.
Now he has to perform very well under less than cordial circumstances to get what his agent thinks he is worth. And I doubt the Vikings, who are the most likely team to sign him, will want to deal with his agent.
What was all that off season talk between Childress and Pat this off season?
His agent made a big mistake. He tried to hold the Vikings hostage and it didn't work.
How will the Vikings deal with anyone else he represents?
Sorry to see Pat go.
Maybe we will get some sacks!
