Picking a defensive MVP on the Vikings last season was easy....
Re: Pat Williams makes case for Vikings' defensive MVP
Phat Pat.
The biggest (no pun intended) example of how stats don't really show how important a player is to a team.

Well at least you & I know that a nose tackles primary job isn't to sack the QB.
;)

And the difference between a LDE playing RDE (Remember the Keneche debates)......

Remember? Hell, don't you remember how adamant I was in those threads supporting Udeze?
Where are all those yutzes now that said he was worthless & should be cut?
Same was true for Hovan. He was moved into the nose tackle position & the majority of the fan base, sans me & Del Rio, expected him to get more sacks.
Re: Pat Williams makes case for Vikings' defensive MVP
It's so awesome that the Vikings are the first team to lead the league in run defense for three consecutive seasons ever, And we would never have made it if it wasn't for Pat Williams.
Quote:
"I change people's game plans," Pat Williams said. "Teams play me different than anybody else. I see the film.
"Jared is good, but I make him better," Williams said bluntly, "and I make Kevin better."
Williams lauded Evans' play, but he insisted the Falcons and Giants would not have dared run the ball up the middle as much if he were on the field.
"I would have shut that down," he said. "It's a nasty job. But I just love what I do."
The man got confident, but it's so true what he's saying. Remember how bad the D-line were against the Giants? We couldn't get any pressure.
I know the Giants have one of the best in the NFL, but the D-line has to do be better against the Eagles.

I think Pat and Mighty Mouse should be co-MVPs.

Pat makes a good argument, but Winny gets my vote.

I think Chad should get a huge amount of consideration here, possibly even more than ole Whinny.
That cat did everything this year.

Yes, Chad has grown into one of my favorite players on defense this year, and I would name him as this year's best up-and-coming player for shure.
He plays with so much energy and he gets pumped up after a big play (and he has made A LOT of those). I really love that! It kinda reminds me of Jared Allen in a way.
