Pat Williams It's 50-50 he'll return to Vikings
After multiple conversations with coach Leslie Frazier, Pat Williams is backing off his declaration he's done with the Minnesota Vikings.

Good news.
Only issue is, coaches are not supposed to be talking to players. Lets hope those multiple conversations were held in that short window during the draft we had.

That's when Pat said they talked

Yeah, pretty clear if you read the article!

He did go through the triceps surgery, which is likely an indicator of his desire to continue. However I wonder how his physical conditioning suffered since he hasn't been able to work out for awhile. Is he 360 lbs.?
At his age he would have to work very hard to be in good enough shape to perform near his previous level. In the past he seemed motivated by the possibility of a ring.
I'm not convinced he will have the motivation to show up in shape.
He's been one of my favorite players, but I place the odds about 20-80.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Phat Pat would be great to have around the locker room with his leadership and experience, especially for the younger guys like Guion etc to have as like a mentor type role.

I would like to see Pat back with us. He may have lost a step or two but he still helps to shut the run game down upfront.

I would like to see him back simply because I don't feel we have anyone better at this point. The truth is you are not going to get a replacement for every position. Especially with the lockout happening.

He might be old and fat but the guy can still play; mind you not every down anymore, but 40 of 60 defensive downs is good. He can come back.
We're bringing purple back.
