Pat Williams Had Knee Surgery, Childress Reveals

A little blip toward the end of Sid Hartman’s latest column:

[Brad] Childress…said linebacker E.J. Henderson, who missed most of last season after dislocating two toes on his left foot against Tennessee in Week 4, and defensive tackle Pat Williams, who had minor offseason surgery on his knee, are healthy and ready to play.

I think not much was made of it because it was clean-up work.
Has he had knee work done in the past? I don't know.
After a while, most athletes need that.
Anyway, I like the healthy part of it also.

    Good point about the IR...

However, how nice would it have been to have E.J. on the field for that Philly game?
Maybe he would’ve, you know, actually tackled Brian Westbrook on that screen.

I didn't know Pat had legs.
I thought he was just a stonewall that just happened to pop up on our D-Line.

If Greenway and Leber couldn't catch him I don't know if E.J. could've , I mean there are angles and what not to take into consideration but I consider both of them faster then E.J.

but to stay on topic healthy and ready to play is always good to hear.

I wouldn't put it past him, even if E.J. is slower, pursuit angles in football are extremely important.

at 0:06 you can see Greenway at the top right of the screen, and if he would have taken better angle on the play, he possibly could have stopped Westbrook.
No way to tell for sure, the blocking on the play was pretty good, too.
Ofcourse other things play into the angle Greenway took, because we can't see what he was seeing on that play, but it looks to me like if he would have taken a different angle, he would have had a shot at stopping that TD.

also, EJ may have been in a different position during that play than Napo or whoever was in for him during that play.
