Surely we have to give the ball to Chester all night long. I predict that the will rush over 125 yards.

    Re: Panthers-Vikings Preview

A look at the Carolina Panther's

    Offense

The O-line problems should make Delhomme's day miserable, and he could be running for his life.

If Smith doesn't play and they use Keyshawn as the primary receiver I think our chance are really good to hold this team's offense in check.

Foster is an average RB and if Smith doesn't play and we can cheat an extra man into the box we can shut down their running game and really put some pressure on Delhomme.

    Defense

Their defense is still very good and I hope we can have success against their front 4 and DB's, their LB's if Morgan doesn't play are average and would be young except for Diggs.

    the front 4:
    Julius Peppers: enough said
Maake Kemoeatu: big run stopper and force in the middle 6' 5" 350lbs.
    Kris Jenkins:
another big run stopper and force in the middle 6' 4" 335lbs
Mike Rucker: very good pass rusher and run stopper.

This is a very good front 4 and I don't understand how Atlanta rushed for 220 yards on them.

    Linebackers: (if Morgan doesn't play)
Thomas Davis: Young and average so far
Adam Seward: 2nd year player and he is a ? about how good he is.
Nil Diggs: Former Packer (BOO) and average to a little better.

Linebackers are average to maybe a little subpar if Morgan doesn't play, this might be the achilles heal of this defense and where we should exploit this defense.
Short crossing routes all day long on these linebackers could be our bread and butter!
Look for Travis Taylor and Wiggy to have a big day and get key 1st downs.

    Defensive backs:
    CB Chris Gamble:
    Up and coming corner.
    S. Safety Shaun Williams: Used to be a top Safety and could revitalize his career after move from Giants.
    F. Safety Mike Minter: good safety but might be on downside of career.
CB Ken Lucas: good cover corner.

This group is above average and the safeties are a little older but I wouldn't take them lightly.

I think the Vikes can take them with or without Smith, I think a revenge factor for some of the Viking's defenive players (not just Smoot) will come into play and they will be fired up for this rematch.

    Viking's 20 and the Panther's 10.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

All I can think of is that Meshawn hit last year against the Girls where he was sent flailing.
That hit brings a smile to my face.

I read in the local paper that Nail Diggs might be out for the game too. I don't know how accurate this is but if someone could look into that..

    Re: Panthers-Vikings Preview

Their O-Line is a mess right now and hopefully we can get to delhome but one thing that does bother me is if we win we wont ge the credit for it,all the media will say is "they played against a depleted team missing dan morgan and steve smith they should have won this game easily...yadda yadda yadda".I actually kind of wish that smith plays so that if we win nobody can take it away from us

    Re: Panthers-Vikings Preview

If steve smith is not playing, we should be able to win pretty easily.

If he is playing, I hope that smoot doesn't have to cover him the whole game. Smoot has gotten a little bit of confidence since last year's ass whippping and I don't want him to lose that confidence. thank god ted cottrel is gone.
