Hey, I only said it sounded funny (rhymed too). I didn't compare Pep with Green, nor did I say that Green was the worst. I don't like the fact that Pep fumbles more than the rest of the league, but if you want to compare apples to oranges, then look at the differences between the two positions. QBs are much more vulnerable to strips, slaps and drops than RBs (e.g., bad snaps, pass rush pressure, holding the ball with one hand, etc.). This is not to excuse Pep or any other QB, but all RBs have to do is set up the bread basket, grab the ball and then tuck it under their arms and cradle it by squeezing it tight between their arms and torsos. I would venture that if we charted which percentage of times the ball was handled vs. fumbles that Green would have a higher percentage of fumbles than Pep. Remember, in this calculation, the QB touches the ball on every play, so that alone will make the percentage higher for Green (tough sh*t).

Ahman does have troubles with fumbles, but it is always at the beginning of the season. The one against Chicago was, unfortunately, very costly and high profile.

In his GB career, he has:

2000: 4 lost fumbles
2001: 4 lost fumbles
2002: 3 lost fumbles
2003: 5 lost fumbles

However, look at his touches:

2000: 336 touches (lost once per 84 touches)
2001: 366 touches (lost once per 91.5 touches)
2002: 343 touches (lost once per 114 touches)
2003: 405 touches (lost once per 81 touches)

This was his first lost fumble in 61 touches this season.

In 2003, he did not lose a fumble after week 9, and in 2002 he did not lose a fumble after week 7.

We play Minnesota in Week 10 this year.

Los -- you have to admit that 17 fumbles for an RB in just 4 seasons is a lot. Running backs are expected to hold onto the ball.

Nothing personal against Green, he is a great back besides the fumbling problem.

Duante needs to hold onto the ball too, but that's a whole different story.
