As they get ready to host Green Bay on Sunday, Minnesota Vikings’ coach Brad Childress wants his assistants to step up.

Childress, a former Wisconsin assistant, said there were too many questionable substitutions and conservative play calls in the Vikes’ 13-10 loss at Kansas City last Sunday.

Childress, who built a reputation as an offensive guru, has seen his team struggle with inconsistency ever since he got to Minnesota a year and a half ago.

Rookie running back Adrian Peterson was the Vikings’ shining light against the Chiefs. He ran for 102 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 48 more yards. Peterson says the team is leaving too many opportunities on the field and they need to clean those things up.

Quarterback Kelly Holcomb was sacked five times. He’ll start against the Packers on Sunday if normal starter Tarvaris Jackson does not recover from a groin injury that kept him out at Kansas City.

He doesn't seem quite as relaxed and jovial as he did just a few short weeks ago. But I guess that is only fair since the fan base isn't quite as relaxed or jovial at this point either lol
