Our receivers are underrated this year

I obviously can't prove this, but I have a feeling, based on what I have read and seen, that our receivers will be a lot better than people think this year. In particular:

    - Troy Williamson will improve and not drop as many balls. He will turn into a good RAC (run after the catch) receiver, and will have some big plays this year.

    - Sidney Rice, who is 6'4", will be a big red zone target and will be hard to man cover.
    - TE Shiancoe will be good in the middle of the field, and as the check-down target.
    - Aundre Allison will play with a chip on his shoulder (which makes two guys, if you take Adrian Peterson into the equation).

I still have some "issues" with our QB, T-Jax, but I think our receivers will get the job done this year, and surprise people.

I hope you're right. I haven't seen anyone in person this year but I'm still "doubting" on
Troy Williamson and our other WR.
I have good feelings for Shiancoe and Peterson.

Lets not forget Bobby Wade in all of this.
He is a perfect fit for the slot and should become (IMHO) TJ's prime target.

Take a look at this link.
Someone broke the WCO and the WR positions down a few months ago.

I would say the receivers aren't over or underrated.
They are what they are, full of potential with no reason for anyone to be overly optimistic or pessimistic.
    Unproven.
Will be fun to see them develop.
I love the team approach without the hero players.
I can enjoy that this year, but I'm sure that won't last...there are a few players that will rise out of the ashes with their jersey sales going through the roof.

You still have issues with TJack.
I don't have any issues with him, other than him being unproven just like the receiving corps.
My guess is that if the receivers surprise people you will also have to put TJack into that category...and the line, RBs, TEs, coaching staff, defense, special teams.
    What?
    It's a team game?
I must be losing it, I don't know whose crotch to sniff.

Re: Our receivers are underrated this year

I dont know if you can claim our WR's are underated when they have never done anything of value in the NFL worth mentioning.

Some of them have an opportunity to get rated....some of them have already squandered that opportunity. Either way none of them have done anything noteworthy enough to draw attention.

If for some reason they are underated......well in my experience being underated usualy can help you way more then hurt you.
If you promise to be smarter, I will promise to be nicer.

My posts are worth 6 of yours.

Re: Our receivers are underrated this year

We didn't execute very well last year.

It isn't just the WRs, that have the chance to prove themselves, it is our WCO or KAO that has that chance as well.

TW, if he continues to catch with his body will have a difficult time with YAC.
I don't see him working out long term.
I have more hope for the Rookies here than TW.
TW if he does well has the most upside surprise for me personally because I have the least expectations for him and he has played his downs in the NFL where the rooks haven't.

It may be unfair of me to think that, but even TO had his drops and his off the field reactions, but at other times, on the field, he gets it done.
TW can offset some of his drops by making plays.
