Our Next Loss
We're going to take another loss yet I think. I have 14-2 in my bones.
Where is the best place to take the loss?
The Giants? The Bears?
I think we need to beat Bengals and Cards for sure ... but maybe the Bungles don't matter...

I think we go 13-3 with a loss today and against the Giants with backups in...hate to say it but I just have a bad feeling about todays game....

Re:Our Next Loss
I have a bad feeling about tonight's game. I know the Cards have been playing average. If we are getting pressure on Warner, I think we will be fine. Boldin, Breaston, and Fitz will be problematic if we aren't getting to Warner.
Bengals and Giants are the other two that I have a bad feeling about.
The case has been made that the combined record of our opponents that we have beaten is not very impressive.
Good teams we beat:
GB
SF
Bal
GB
We could do ourselves a lot of good by beating AZ, Cin, and NYG to prove we can beat decent teams. Even better would be to not lose to the bad teams on the remaining schedule, like the Bears and Panthers. The Giants are on the bubble of being on the same level as the Bears and Panthers, injuries have done the Giants in this season.
Stay healthy Vikings!
Let's go Vikes, beat the Cards!

Re:Our Next Loss
I actually have NO worries about tonight.
I do not see at all how the Cardinals will stop this offense. I personally think we can stop their offense enough to win. Obviously it is not 100% lock or anything, but it is a very favorable match-up for us.
I also do not see the Bengals outscoring us in the Dome.
I think 15-1 is a VERY real possibility, but I would not be shocked to see us lose to the Giants if the game does not matter for some reason.

Re:Our Next Loss
I like the way we have stepped on our last two opponents. It is something that we didn't do well in the first part of the season. I think it is a sign that the team is playing more complete on offense.
The two things that will contribute to "a loss" is the turnover battle and the decline in special team's play.
I don't have the stats in front of me, but I remember us keeping teams from getting past their 25 yard line on our kick offs but lately, they have been getting upfield more.
AVG
D. Manning 5 24
J. Knox 3 41
B. Obomanu 2 30
L. Rankin 2 21
D. Williams 3 24
D. Northcutt 1 21
The last 3 games haven't been that bad I guess. I think that Know just burned one in my brain. Actually the Bears did well against us on returns, lol, they had 8 of them.
League Rankings.....
Offense: Defense:
Points 31.1 (2nd) 18.5 (8th)
Yards 390.0 (5th) 303.5 (8th)
Pass 260.8 (7th) 221.9 (19th)Teams still don't/can't run on us.
Rush 129.2 (9th) 81.6 (2nd)
Let's get back to stepping on necks and playing complete games on O, D and ST.

Re:Our Next Loss
The best place to take a loss is against an AFC team, because it is least likely to affect playoff seeding. I'm pretty sure 'record against similar opponents' is one of the higher tie-breakers. Cincy is also probably the most likely to beat the Vikes, as they are a good team in basically every facet of the game.
That being said, I think the Vikes are going to be all alone and slotted in the #2 spot, so it probably doesn't matter.
I also think we're at the point of the season where the team could take a loss and even the fans, who live and die with every play, could just move on to the next week.
If I had to pick one, I suppose I would pick the Panthers. I really want to see the Vikes crush the Bears again. The home fans should get to see a win against the Giants, even if it doesn't matter. The other two should be good games against pretty good teams, so I'd like to see the Vikes end up on top to really enjoy those. Carolina game is the one I keep forgetting is on the schedule.
I really just hope we get to see the Vikes and Saints in the NFC Championship though, even if we lose a couple more between now and then. That game could be epic. When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Re:Our Next Loss
Unless something crazy happens, we are going to New Orleans for the NFC Championship game, regardless how we finish. Saints are going perfect... until we go into their house and beat them
We're bringing purple back.

A loss is not crazy, even for the saints. The titans are on a roll, as are the (s)aints. Anything can happen, that's why the games are played, and played on the field not paper.
