Im suprised how nobody saw a glaring mistake on my part, I accidently added the entire Offensive payroll into the defense, thats why the defense is 1.85x larger than offense. Ill fix it now.

I have no problem as long as those lines produce.

If they are doing their jobs, the rest of the team looks a LOT better!

I think the we have invested so much more on defense says two things.

    1. We care more about defense.
    2. This season we are depending on our offensive players to play to their full potential. Whether they do or not will make or break the team.

Does anyone know the increase in coaching salary between 2005 and 2006?

I read it quite awhile back but if I remember correctly we went from under 3 million for the coaching staff's pay to over 8 million.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

"• Adding six new coaching positions to the staff and some $5 million to the coaching salary budget. Last season, former coach Mike Tice entered training camp with 15 coaches and a total salary budget of less than $3 million. Wilf has pledged to bring the coaching budget to the NFL average, which is about $8 million. As of today, the Vikings have 21 assistants, and coach Brad Childress alone is making $2 million."

I believe we added 2 more coaches after that and have 23 at this point.

It doesn't really matter. The information falls under the mind-numbing category anyway. It's similar to the salary cap information being touted in the press (although that is more accurate), it's worthless unless you look at the acquisitions and estimate how many '06 cap dollars will be shelled out to sign these folks.
