Is Reid retiring after this season? I think if he stays, he will keep McNabb. He looked awsome against the Cowboys. If he keeps playing that way all season, I can justify them asking two firsts for him.I will go back to what I said earlier that they will ride out the year and McNabb will be in Purple next year.

Big deal, he got destroyed when he played Georgia... he had zero protection.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

That wasn't so much him as his O-line's complete lack of any ability to block defenders.....
Not saying he's God's gift, but nobody would have been successful in his position that game... IMO
Wait - the white Andre Ware is David Klingler.
Colt Brennan is David Klingler wearing a grass skirt.

Re: Other QB options?
All the Colt Brennan talk is kind of funny to me ... that guy may have a distant future in the NFL, but he definitely cannot get the job done now.
As for other options ... Sage Rosenfels would be nice, but the Texans I don't think are going to part with him since Schaub has some injury history. Quinn is untouchable in Cleveland. Leinart is too pricey and too risky ... and might not be available since the Cards know Warner gets dinged up here and there as well. Kevin Kolb I think is untouchable for same reasons. There is not much out there unless we go for older guys.
I have not seen much mention of Billy Volek ... who I really think would fit in nicely here. But again, with Rivers getting banged up a bit, I don't know that the Chargers will part ways with Volek.
I think Garcia is a possible option as he is obviously on the outs in Tampa and maybe David Carr if the Giants are secure in Manning's health.
All in all, there do not seem to be alot of options out there and Frerotte might be the best option we have.

You don't know that for a fact as much as I know he will be a solid starter. We'll just have to wait till he gets his chance to start (being we both will be on this forum then). At that point one of us will be eating some crow pie. ;D"C" wrote:

Why would Colt get a chance to start over him?

Doubt they'd get rid of him... but what about Brady Quinn?

Re: Other QB options?
I see we have another fun thread going today.
My two cents......
a.
For those of you who think we should go get Sage.........Didn't we already try that one.
Do you really think he could come in and learn the offense in time to be productive?
Heck, most of you said Lord Dickhead could and he still doesn't have the Jets offense down.
Seriously, did you see what thier coaching staff did last weekend in play calling especially when they were in there short?
b.
For those of you who said Culpepper.
Again, this will apply to all QB's at this stage.
Do you think he could learn the system.
Additionally, I still contend that he is limited in the area of reading a defense to the point that we would have to resort back to gameplanning plays to one sector/area of the field.
Seriously, for those of you who say our staff can't make adjustments, do you think that is a option?
c.
JDB.
Next year my friends.
Next year. (I hope)
d.
For those of you who said Gus.
I am gonna say what I said in the other thread.
He has had enough time in this system and should feel comfortable with coming out and executing the game plan.
Additionally he should get most of the reps this week which will help with any timing issues with the WR's.
Again, he doesn't need to play at a HOF'r level here.
He just needs to complete a few more passes than TJ.
My bigger concern gets back to the issue of our WR's health.
Blame TJ all you want, but if those cats aren't getting open enough for him, I wonder if they will get open enough for Gus.
I hope to all that is Purple and Gold that they do and that Gus won't be as hesistant to pull the trigger if the recievers are "Kindof" open. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

But then again Jackson looked good in the first preseason game too. He was throwing the ball accurately all over the field
