If your not going to have your team/players ready for the season opener, might as well spend less time doing it.

The days of grueling camps are over, these guys are year around conditioned and are already cardio fit. Two adays and tough physical camps make for late season breakdowns hitting the "Wall", and minor to major uneccessary injuries. These also give the team "Dead Legs" as they go into the season. After camp breaks before the first pre-season game against the Colts, they will have scrimmaged and had lots of contact, but football game conditioning really begins in ernest when the first preseason game is played, so does the weekly schedule they will do every week to prepare for their next opponent. They are still in camp mode adding packages, working on 6, 4, and 2 minute drills, Red Zone, Goal Line, Special Teams, etc. So camp really continue's for the 4 weeks of preseason games to get ready for Cleveland.

As conditioned as these guys are, with scrimmages and the pre-season game's they should be ready to go. "Mid-season Form" is just that, and cannot be attained beating down each other in a 60's-70's style camp. A couple guys on this team make more money in a single season than the whole Viking teams of the 60's, and 70's, and if injured cost more than just the team. Ticket sale's, merchandise, and guaranteed contracts are a part of the 21st century sports, and like it or not it is evolving to take care of the athlete's.

Because of the overwhelming demand for autographs of Jared Allen and Adrian Peterson, the Vikings will implement a ticket system for the Defensive Line and Running Backs sessions respectively.
The first 2,000 fans through the gates of Verizon Wireless Vikings Training Camps on those respective dates will receive a scratch-off ticket.
150 of these tickets will be marked with the respective player’s name.
Only fans with one of these 150 tickets will be allowed to enter the line for that respective player.
I would assume that once the Favre signing is announced, the same scratch-off procedure would include Favre.
