I got a couple of questions for all the people who keep track of plays and stuff like that...

    1. Have we ever run a "shovel" pass this year?

    2. Have we ever had a pitch-out to a running back or fullback?

    Enquiring minds want to know!

Yup 2 pitch outs last game

1 went for 1 yard or 2 yards I think

    Other went for a lose

Kindof lump them in with a "Screen" play.
For the life of me I can't figure out why we can't execute one of those gol 'darnit things........ :'(

    Me either my man

Im not sure if Birk can pull anymore.. But he used to be the best pulling center in the legue.. I haven't seen him pull for years

I wonder if we could get him out there and get a block on a screen.. I usually see the guard pull and it isn't working
    Nice observation.
Even though Matt doesn't get out there much, Hutch and Herrera are pulling beasts.
Not to mention Cook (here come the Cook haters) can get over to the other side on a decent clip as well.

Problem I see is that we don't disguise it well and the defense always seems to blow it up.
    That's because they are Guards.
Guards pull way more often than Tackles.
    It's nothing new, nor surprising.

Whats your opinion on Centers and pulling?
I think that is more alongs the lines of what we are discussing.

That depends. In the KAO all conventional rules are out the window.

Not much in this zone blocking run scheme. But Birk did pull a bit more in the Tice era. I think that's what he's refering to.

Maybe include a sentence or two about how gus refuses to throw a pass out of bounds. The guy will take a 12 yard loss rather then chuck the ball to the sidelines. That's my biggest gripe about the guy. He is hanging in there, but please, please gus, let go of the ball.

Brad, may I call you Brad?
Can I have a moment of your time please?

Okay, now I know you and I have had our disagreements, and I'm more than willing to put those aside, however I do have a few prerequisites that must be met.
Next week is the divisional championship against the Bears.
I wish it didn't come down to this but we need to talk.

Can I get you to move past the run-run-pass offense?
    I'm not asking for much.
Don't get me wrong, I like Peterson as much as an Vikes fan, but can I get you to call more passing plays?
Even if they are unsuccessful, it'll open the field up for Peterson to run more plays.

While we're talking about Peterson, can I get you to including him in your short passing routes?
I mean for as explosive as he is, you put him BEHIND the linebackers, the secondary has little chance of stopping this bullet train.

Time is everything Brad, can I get you to prohibit time-outs before the 4th quarter?
I'll lose the yardage for to many men on the field or delay of game.
Don't use that critical time out that could and probably should be used in the fourth quarter.

Speaking about quarters, if we win the initial toss, opt to defend.
We do much better if we get the ball on the start of the second half.
Oh, and do tell the players that the football can be handled a bit harder than a loaf of bread.

To Gus, you're much better than T.Jack, don't get me wrong, but can I get you to not throw a few interceptions?
You aren't Farve, Brady, or Cutler, get used to it.
Just throw the safe passes please.

AP you're my boy, but can I get you to hold the football a little better, these fumbles are atrocious.

Oh brad, throw a few more plays toward CT, it'll keep the defense on their toes.

Barrian, can you earn your multimillion dollar contract please?

Zygi, I know you and Brad are circle jerk buddies and all, but if we don't win this game against Chicago, will you please fire Brad?
Ask Chris Carter if he'd like to coach.

If you all take these steps, you should be able to beat the snot out of Chicago.
This is a game we absolutely cannot afford to lose.
We cannot count on a wildcard.
Leading our division is the only way to secure our seat in the playoffs.

LOL at Frerotte being vastly superior to TJACK, also AD with the way he runs, trying to never give up or get out of bounds is bound to fumble a few times, but I'd rather have him lose a few fumbles a year than have him lose his aggressiveness attacking defenses violently.

Cris Carter is one of the best wideouts of all time, but do you really think he could be a coach? He was too in your face just as a team leader... his eagerness for success would harm him as a coach methinks

Alright to clarify we were discussing how Birk used to pull all the time and how he was very very good at it.. And I mentioned maybe it could help on the screens and tosses

Im not sure if he isn't as good as it now since he hasn't done it every game for years.. Or if Chilly is opposed to it..

It was just a thought.. Not begging for it or anything.. Just wondering if people think he could do it still and possibly help on the screens and tosses.. Since it's always a guard pulling

I think he would be a fantastic coach.
Not only does the man have a great deal of knowledge about football in general, I think it's safe to say he understands quite well the Minnesota Machine.
On top of that, he would bring something Chilly can't, and unless Chilly leads us to a Superbowl Win, probably never will: Fire amongst the fan base.

Vikes fans love Carter, and would have no problem supporting him as a coach, which translates to seats being filled during games.
My biggest problem with Chilly is he isn't a "in your face" coach.
Most of the great coaches in football (Ditka specifically comes to mind) were "in your face" coaches.
While I've not collected the data on this, but great players probably make great coaches.
I hope Goodell chokes on his next meal.
