Thank you. It was obviously a question that gets asked a lot, and I apologize for repeating it. I AM new to this site and don't want to irritate older members, but I don't know how things work here yet. I don't think jumping on new members and discouraging them to post is the way to act. I love the Vikings and would love to chat with people who feel the same way as I do, but if it's at the risk of being called a newbie every time you open your mouth, no thank you.

why do you care what I post "whackyourself"? Everyone has to be new to this site once, so mind your own business.
I was stating this because it happens on a regular bases, I am curious why people come on here and want to know about Onterrio all the time.

Since you are a newbie and are just starting out here, I am letting the rest pass! But you attack me like that again, and I will rip you apart! Besides that welcome to the site, it is the best Vikings site I have ever found.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

We don't need this guy. We have Chestor as our starter, Mewelde as our 3rd down back, and Ciatrick Fason as our primary backup. I just don't see how Onterrio would fit in, even if he put down the pipe.

    Re: Ontario Smith

Hauling this thread back to Page 1 because of comments made by Zygi yesterday:

New Fire Ignites Kleinsasser (Pioneer Press)

Smith update: As is, Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said he is comfortable with his depth at running back.

"If we had to go to battle tomorrow, we'd be ready," Bevell said, mentioning starter Chester Taylor, Mewelde Moore, Ciatrick Fason and Adimchinobe Echemandu.

But Vikings owner Zygi Wilf remained confident that the Vikings could bring back another player: Onterrio Smith.

Currently fulfilling a yearlong suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, Smith is eligible for reinstatement next month, and Wilf said the Vikings could be inclined to give him another opportunity.

"The way this coaching staff responds to players, this would be the right environment for him to move his career forward," Wilf said. "But all that's subject to his reinstatement."

Wilf also said it would be important for the Vikings to feel comfortable with Smith, both mentally and physically, before inviting him back to the team.

Smith has more career touchdowns (nine) than Moore (four) and Taylor (seven).

We could see Onterrio coming back if the Triangle and Zygi sufficiently believes he can remain on the straight-and-narrow. Personally, I'd like to see Onterrio back.. If Koren Robinson can be rehabilitated and play for us, why not Smith?

Plus we'd get him on a cheap contract and he'd have to play out of his skin to prove himself in a deep backfield. And you can never have enough depth at running back.

I hope he comes back because he is a #1 RB in the NFL. He justs needs to stay away from the Marijuana. I know he can beat out Chester Taylor for the #1 spot.

I agree that he should be brought back; you can never have too many quality RB's on your roster. As for beating out C. Taylor, are you smoking some of that hippie lettuce yourself?

If he comes back I see him sliding right into the #2 slot, unless Chester gets hurt (knock on wood) in which case he would be our #1. It's too bad Moore can't stay healthy; that kid has potential, but seems a little fragile.
    I am a dipshit!!!
