Only Vikes Visit Cancer Ward

http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb?sport=nfl&id=min&tid=2327898&lid=18
I'm working at a pediatrics oncology (read: cancer) floor in Honolulu right now.
Every year, it's a tradition for Pro Bowlers to come visit the kids.
This year, only four of them came, and every single one of them was from the Vikings....

A great read even though only a post on ESPN

Childress does have a knack for bringing in character players.
Stories like this make me proud to be a fan of the purple and gold.

There was probably more to it than we get out of a posting by a MED student.
Still nice to hear about it.
All I am saying is that I don't think they got to the pro bowl and were asked to do this.
This was planned, not like they got here and raised their hands when asked who wanted to volunteer.

Considering that they had the cameras there and this is an event every year, this could have been PR from the Vikings Org.
If it wasn't, it would be selling our Org short.

Touching story and glad our guys got to participate and bring some rays of happiness to the hospital for those young kids.

Sharper??
Where was he?

Med Student:
I do realize that there are many more "important" jobs than being an NFL player, but some of these kids' days were brightened far more today by these players than anything we could have done for them.
I know it wasn't a huge sacrifice on the players' parts or anything, but I was still very impressed.

Again, the Chiller doesn't bring in these players, the front office does.

I do agree that it makes me proud to be a Fan of the Purple and Gold though regardless of who brought them in.

Fine King Chilly only lets the front office bring in character players.

Thats proberly right, i think that even though Wilf and or Spielman has the final say, they wouldnt do it without being in agreement with Childress..

We all (well almost all of us) know how the triangle works.
Of course the Chiller has a say, but I do get tired of everyone giving him credit were credit isn't due.

Re: Only Vikes Visit Cancer Ward

There's an indication in this article than anyone was invited from the NFL although it isn't real clear. It just says that it was sponsored by the NFL and the "Boy's and Girl's Clubs" of Hawaii.
NFL Reaches Out to Hawaii Kids
Minnesota Vikings superstars Pat Williams and Kevin Williams storm the pediatric wing of Kapiolani Medical Center.
It's a chance for them to reach out to young fans at the hospital.

"It's just a fun thing for us to do," said Kevin Williams, a defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings.
"Go out and hand out gifts and autographs, and just try to brighten their day."
Adrian Peterson and Tony Richards also made their rounds at the hospital.
In all these Minnesota Vikings players talked to 45 kids and signed a bunch of hats and other souvenirs.

The Triangle as an entity brings in the players.
Childress is a component of the triangle.... how exactly does he deserve no credit?
