Only Jackson can lead Vikings to playoffs

MINNEAPOLIS — For Brad Childress, picking his starting quarterback this week might be the easiest decision he has made in Minnesota since choosing to keep that glorious, wind-chill-repelling mustache.

Four Downs: If Vikings commit to T-Jack, he's finally ready

The Minnesota Vikings don't seem ready to announce that Tarvaris Jackson is again the starting quarterback. Even so, he has stepped in and up in the last two games for the NFC North leaders.

LOL, I think Chilly was waiting to hear from Souhan before deciding who to start on Sunday. ;DAny man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken

Re: Only Jackson can lead Vikings to playoffs
Well my vote goes to start TJ .... if he can continue to throw lazers when needed he's our best option ... as long a we can run he fits in nicely .... i think Gus is to beat up and a statue waiting to be knocked over ....

I live in Raleigh, NC and on my way home from work I listen to the local sports radio.
Well they have an update that runs every 20 minutes during commercial breaks, and the guy said that Childress announced TJack as the starter against Atlanta.
Has anyone else heard anything, because everything I read says he hasn't yet made an announcement.

You gotta go with the hot hand and TJ looks hot right now.
Let Gus heal up- we may need him if TJ falters in the playoffs.

Re: Only Jackson can lead Vikings to playoffs
OK, I really do think TJ should start, but 6 good quarters is not enough to crown him. These are very important games and he is inexperienced.
In any event, TJ is not going to "lead" us anywhere. I expect the average QB play and strong RB play to continue."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

A QB can be a leader by managing games and making good decisions (take a sack, throw it away, don't be a hero).
The Steelers won when Big Ben threw less than 20 passes... their record was not great when he had to throw more than that.
TJ can absolutely lead the Vikings without Peyton like numbers. The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.

Re: Only Jackson can lead Vikings to playoffs
I have heard nothing of the sort and usually adventure around the internet through out the day (obviously I'm at workI live in Raleigh, NC and on my way home from work I listen to the local sports radio.
Well they have an update that runs every 20 minutes during commercial breaks, and the guy said that Childress announced TJack as the starter against Atlanta.

;D ).
My guess is that T. Jack gets the start and Gus will have to wait for 1 more game to see just how well T. Jack does given the magnitude of the Falcons game.
If he has another stellar performance T. Jack will play the rest of the year and into the playoffs but if he has a rough outing you will see Gus take over in the Giants game.
In my opinion it's the most logical thing to do at this point.
I just don't see how you pull a player that has done as well as T. Jack has the last game in a half.
Not that I don't feel a little sympathy for Gus considering he might lose his job to an injury but it's the NFL, T. Jack is suppose to be the QB of the Vikings future and what a great opportunity for him to show that he is just that, the QB of the future.
If he lays an egg then the Vikes will have a better understanding of what to do during the off season.
