Quoted for truth!!!I think I would say we are much worse than our record shows.....mostly on offense. Our defense has been very good most of the season.
We have the NFL's Leading Rusher...and he ran NINE times.
NINE!!!!
Our Quarterback (and I use the term loosely) who can't throw an accurate pass to save his life, ran 8 times...one less than the guy whose JOB it is to run.
In fact, our runningbacks combined for a mere 15 rushing attempts.
Meanwhile, Tarvaris "He's our guy" Jackson ran 8 times (as I stated above) and threw another 41 times.
A total of 49 plays.
So, lets see, Peterson got 11 touches (9 rush, 2 pass), Taylor got 11 touches (5 pass, 6 rush), and Tarvaris "He's Our Guy" Jackson tried to win this by himself...
Anyone else see anything wrong with this picture?
Childress flooped this one with his poor play calling.
He allowed a QB who is only good in very controlled situations to try and carry the game - much like he did versus Chicago...and throughout the first half of the season - and it failed.
Miserably!!
Peterson should have had a lot more touches.
Sure, Washington was stopping him, but he wasn't allowed (as usual) to get a rhythm.
He'd rush up the gut, get hammered by the 8-man front, and get pulled.
Nice thinking, Childress.
Meanwhile, Jackson has absolutely no accuracy.
Million dollar arm....five cent head.
His decision making is horrible (How many jump pass INT's will he throw before he figures out he can't throw them!!!!).
Better than our record?
Not on your life.
Our record is better than we are.
Most of those wins are due to 1 of 3 factors:
1:
Adrian Peterson tearing someone up.
2:
Chester Taylor tearing someone up.
3:
The Defense tearing someone up.
But Childress thinks it's his brilliant play-calling or his "Futureboy" Tarvaris Jackson.
WRONG!!!!

Re: We are much better than our record shows.
Caine, WE CANT RUN THE FOOTBALL with that many people on the line, like Richardson with that BS safety...
You have to pass, create something but not rushing, they had way to many people in thereRosie O'Donnell is a dude!

You can still run the ball, but as both Caine & I noticed, quit running it straight up the gut! We have had little success doing it for 3 games now, yet that seems to be the one the coaches think is their bread & butter play.
It isn't working! Mix it up some & try something else with AD & C-Tay. There must be at least some plays on the back side of that placard Childress holds.
Gibbs new right away his RB's couldn't run up the middle on us, so he stretched the ends. You think our coaches could have picked up on that.

I do blame the Chiller for approving the damn game plan though.
We have seen more and more that running alone isn't gonna get it done so IMHO they should have come ready to pass more and not run as much.
Of the 23 offensive plays in the first half (not much to work with there) AD had 5 runs, CT had 2 runs and T-rich (god love him) had one run (Out of the endzone for a S).
AD had 2 runs of negative yards (-1 each) plus 2 runs for 2 yards each and 1 run for 1 yard.
CT had a 2 yard run and a 5 yard run.
If any other coaching staff knew that this was gonna happen they would gear up to rely on the pass vice the run until they softened the D up a bit and forced them out of thier 8 in a box scheme.
Hell the Skins even used a 4 man line with an extra LB (4) to stop the run just daring us to pass.
Guess what, I would have passed more than run as well and not because I was calling the plays for "Futureboy" but because the situation dictated it especially after getting down 22-0 at the half.
Problem is, "Futureboy" did exactly as Gibbs thought he would.
Have a repeat performance of the Bears game.
Instant chuck to Smoot.
(Lord help me).
Long story short, every team has to take what the Defense gives them and exploit it.
We did neither until it was to late.
Based on what I saw in the 9'rs and Bears game I would have anticipated what the Skins were gonna do and came out passing with a few token runs to keep them honest.
Of course I would have rather had anyother QB in there than the "Futureboy" (I like that one better than "Jedi").Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Just I am missunderstanding you guys, here are the running plays that the staff called for AD.
Off Guard doesn't allow much for a 1 cut runner to break one a long one to the house but behind our line against a 7 and 8 man fronts with a FB in on our side should get more than 2 yards. A TE would help but not much at this point as the gap isn't open that long.
I would (as we saw in the second half) bring in an extra WR and split him out to get that LB/CB out away from the line.
Off Tackle is more condusive to breaking a long one and, again, with a TE and a FB thrown in with our OL should have produced a heck of alot more yards than what were gained.
As we saw in this game and games past, our staff has a tendancy to use not only the FB but 2 TE's as well in these situations so that the D can't guess what side the run will be to.
AD's first half runs.
1-10-MIN 37
(13:52) 28-A.Peterson left guard to MIN 39 for 2 yards (95-C.Wilson).
1-10-MIN 40
(7:13) 28-A.Peterson right tackle to MIN 40 for no gain (99-A.Carter).
1-10-MIN 41
(11:13) 28-A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 42 for 1 yard (57-R.Godfrey, 94-A.Montgomery).
1-10-MIN 12
(7:40) 28-A.Peterson left guard to MIN 11 for -1 yards (94-A.Montgomery).
2-10-MIN 24
(5:40) 28-A.Peterson left tackle to MIN 26 for 2 yards (57-R.Godfrey).
Long story short, I think people need to use the correct terminalogy if they are gonna rip specific playcalling apart so that we don't confuse the masses and make them believe every play is up the gut.
