what do we need to become an ELITE team?

i think alot has to do with attitude

we need a new coach thats for sure

i am thinking, Kiffin, Fisher or del Rio

i really like our d line they just need time to gell and learn

I honestly would like to see a big back maybe take a flyer on Jamal Lewis for a year use moore as a change of pace back

QB depands on pep's but i would like to see him more under control, his contract and turnovers i think we could get rid of him and pick up a veteran for a year or two with a rookie

Mckinnie should slide over to guard and we should pick up a lt who can handle speed

our WR i think is good as is i would like to keep taylor and Robinson

    bennett, smoot both go

pick up a high energy vocal lb in a trade

i know most isnt doable but this is what i would liek to see
it sucks being u, but its great being me

i think its a big deal though because its the integrity of the team, which helps attract fans and players alike

i really think in order to turn this around we need to get rid of tice

need to bring in someone who disciplines the players, the players have had a free run of this team for two long and every former player seems to say this

tighten up the ship and then see where it goes, if it goes no where then change players

I'm far from a Tice fan. I do think that he needs new cordinators to help him. Honestly all these great coaches have a solid set of cords we do not.
I think he has the players playing for him and I see evidence of that on the field to support my own outlook on it. I also hear guys talking in interviews about how they suport the coach and believe in the guy.

I don't personally care about his ticket deal. He is the lowest paid HC in the league and while that doesn't justify breaking rules he has paid his fine and it is over.

I also don't care about the "love boat."
That's my take on it as well. There's an old quote that goes, "You can't fly with Eagles when you work with Turkeys". Tice has been saddled (literally) with sub-standard Coordinators during his tenure as HC. Red *blows goats* McCombs wouldn't spend any money, and Zygi is taking this season to assess the situation (Hopefully he reads PP.O and knows what we know).

In my honest opinion, there are no HC candidates out there that are both going to be available and can push us to the next level. No one "on the bubble" makes me say, "Geez, I hope we get HIM!!!" Give Tice a real set of coordinators to go with the real talent on the field and see where he takes us.

As for individual players...we need touch ups in a few spots. Linebacker, Running Back (Unless Moore keeps playing impressively), O-Line. Those are my big 3.

I'm torn on the Culpepper issue. If he comes back and plays like he did the first 6 weeks, do we really want him back? I know that sounds horrible, but - let's face it - he was stinking it up out there. BJ, while not at all impressive, has been solid and won 3 straight (Yeah, I know, Special teams and D won in NY). So, do we try and off load Culpepper while we can still get something for him, or do we roll the dice on him and hope that he not only recovers, but he starts to figure out how to run the new Offense (The one that doesn't rely on Moss)?

The season isn't over, and while I no longer thinkl we're a Superbowl caliber team, I think we can at least pull out of the season with some dignity intact.

Jamal Lewis is trash so no.

I know for a fact that Jack Del Rio will not be leaving Jacksonville anytime soon.

Personally I like the team the way it is. If we can't have a guy step up at MLB and begin to lead this team in tackles and playmaking ability that is our biggest need. That is the only position I really want to see updated.

I would give Tice the option to stay at HC if he would accept a revamped set of cordinators.

I like the direction this team is going. They have something special going that I would want to be carried over to next season. Keep in mind a lot of our talent is raw and is young. This season and the strides they are making is making them stronger and better.

To be an Elite team the only thing you can add to this team to make it so called "elite," is time, and consitency. Consistency with health, with personel, ownership, everything.
I agree almost 100 percent here. I actually am a Tice guy and I like seeing us win so not so many people are calling for his head. I would like to see him with coordinators he trusts and that know what they are doing. I mean did you see him going off on Loney last night? I really like this team and think with Burleson and Koren at full strength our receivers will be fine next season.
Anyone talking about getting rid of Pep does not understand how important a solid QB is in this league. BJ has been nice, but his arm is tired and you have seen that on a lot of deep balls with no zip.
And I would love to see MLB a little stronger, whether someone already on the team can do that or not, I dont know.

I only mention it because of how poorly Daunte played in the first 6 weeks. Had he shown signs of improving, I wouldn't entertain the idea...but he really didn't.

And, another reason I consider trading him now is because I DO understand the importance of a solid QB. Daunte - without Randy and Linehan - simply hasn't been solid. As much as I appreciate what he's done, and as much as I hope that he can come back and hit his stride again next season, it's still a legitimate question.

"Can Daunte recover his 2004 form and lead us to the promised land?"

    Honestly, I don't know.

    Del Rio or Kiffin?

Del Rio has a very young and talented team, he is not going anywhere until he loses it there.

From what I understand, Kiffin does not want to be a coach. Why risk your job in the NFL (which he is good at) for the mediocrity of being an NFL coach?

Fisher, maybe. Although the Titans blow...they seem to be in rebuild mold and Fisher is a God there.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tice around if the players are actually playing for him, but as it was already said he needs coordinators that know what they are doing. Maybe Dom Capers or Jim Bates as D.C. but since it is more than likele Bates is not going anywhere Capers could come in and if Herm gets the KC job then why not try to get Saunders?
    Thanks for the sig Pack93z

    1. Better O-Line
    2. Better coaching
    3. Less injuries
