Sounds like the Vikes, (Spielman) are the only team holding to the offset clause. The amount of money they are saving on the high first round contract under the new agreement is more than covering the guaranteed money. Just sign him already.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

Maybe Rick is not the only one trying to get the offset language into the contract. A few other first rounders not signed.
NFL draft picks all signed up except for these seven - NFL.com
Something else we have in common with the other teams with first rounders not signed, Rick. NONE OF THEM MADE THE PLAYOFFS. Only one of them finished over .500. Not the crowd to be hanging with. Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

Good move Rick.
Vikings Give In, Matt Kalil Agrees to Deal with No Offset Language
Making this exception is absolutely the right decision, and it avoids what could have been a rocky start to the Kalil/Vikings relationship. Now I wasn’t getting the impression that Kalil would hold out or that this was an ugly situation at all. It was just simply a matter of principal, as all the other top picks ahead of Kalil received contracts without the offset language.Exact details of Kalil’s contract are unknown, as it’s expected to be officially signed Thursday, but is rumored to for around 4 years/$20 million. The offset language that was holding up the deal, was ironed out, and Kalil has won, so he’s almost guaranteed to make $20 million from his rookie contract. Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.
