All is not that bad my purple friends.. it was a sloppy game by both teams and it was still right down to the wire.. I will comment later on the game, but I don't want to seem to gloat. But the season hasn't been doomed due to tonight, TJ played better in the second half, but both teams have some serious problems along the oline.

playcalling was also too predictable in the first half

VERY disappointing. I expected better from our Defense. They weren't worthy of the pre-season hype. We got very little from them. I'm also inclined to dis Shanks, but he was ripped on that coach's challenge. The other TE looked pretty decent though.

Re: Offiicial Post Game Thoughts and Observations

I'm a lifelong Vikings fan, but bottom line is the Vikings got owned ... yet again ... by the Packers.
    Five in a row.
Time for Vikes fans to just admit the Packers are the better team at this time, and quit talking pre-game smack about how badly the Vikes are going to demolish the Packers, and yada yada yada.
The Packers tried to lose the game through penalties, but couldn't manage to give it away.

    Okay, my more specific thoughts:

Fumble in first half, Darren Sharper attempts to pick it up, ends up batting it to a Packer for a first game.
How long has the guy been playing and he still doesn't have the sense to just drop on the all?
    Pathetic.

Vikes get penalized three times in a row on the Packers goal line, and then Fred Evans get penetration for a three yard loss ... and then celebrates like he just killed the drive.
Pathetic ... get your ass back on the line and play.

    Vikes block the field goal.
Defensive players goes to cover it, and then brilliantly attempts to lateral it backward on deep in Packers territory.
No harm done ... but ... pathetic.

Shiancoe drops the key first down pass.
Luckily, C. Taylor bails him out by hauling in the pass on the next own.
    But still ... pathetic.

ST coverage on the punt return ... pathetic.

T-Jack takes off on a first quarter run, and instead of sliding 4 yards after the first down, he attempts to take on the DB in order to gain what, maybe an extra yard?
    Slide, you fricking fool.
Did you not learn anything from the pre-season?
    Pathetic.

Vikes spend tons on Jarred Allen, and we all get to hear him yap and hear Ray Edwards talk about 22 sacks and, against a rather second-rate line and a newbie QB -- 0 sacks.
    Pathetic.

A few bright spots -- Peterson was a stud as usual, overall the run defense was alright, but this looked like an 8-8 team tonight.
I give T-Jack one more game to see if he's finally worthy of starting, and then give Frerotte the shot.
Also, bench/cut Shiancoe now and let's make Mills the man at TE.

Tired of talk talk talk from the Vikings and fans, with little to nothing to show for it on the field.
    Pathetic.

I'm not going to put this on TJack. He didn't get much help from either his receivers or his Oline in protection.

I wished we would have tried more outside runs instead of only running inside though
    WHAT?????
TJ had LOTS of time to throw.... The OL did a great job.
    Gave up 1 sack!

TJ was pathetic in 1st half.... OK in 2nd.
But he has to make decisions better.

you are right, but it was game 1 for green bay as well, and their qb with zero starts made our qb with 15 look like a damn fool

I have the same thoughts and observations about this game that I had at the end of last year.

Play calling was pretty atrocious except when they opened it up in the third - about the only time TJack looked like an NFL QB. Rest of the time he looked pretty bad - especially compared to a guy in his first NFL start.

Is it still too early to know whether he is the QB of the future?
