    GB 13

    MIN 9

    Plays: 8

    Possession: 2:46

    Minnesota Vikings at 01:04

    1-10-MIN 7
    (1:04) 28-A.Peterson up the middle to MIN 9 for 2 yards (74-A.Kampman).

    2-8-MIN 9
    (:28) 13-K.Holcomb pass incomplete short left to 40-J.Kleinsasser (77-C.Jenkins).

    3-8-MIN 9
(:24) (Shotgun) 13-K.Holcomb pass incomplete short right to 89-R.Ferguson.

    4-8-MIN 9
(:19) (Punt formation) PENALTY on MIN-46-C.Loeffler, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at MIN 9 - No Play.

    4-13-MIN 4

So that's TWO possessions in the 3rd quarter, where AD got the ball 3 times.

And in the 4th, the Vikes had this ONE possession, before it became a 2-TD game.

    Minnesota Vikings at 12:44

    2-M.Crosby kicks 69 yards from GB 30 to MIN 1. 28-A.Peterson to GB 48 for 51 yards (24-J.Bush).

    1-10-GB 48

    4-8-GB 46
    (11:11) 5-C.Kluwe punts 31 yards to GB 15, Center-46-C.Loeffler. 21-C.Woodson ran ob at GB 18 for 3 yards.

This MYTH that somehow AD was benched or not given the ball is ridiculous.
If one actually looks at the play-by-play, you'll see that AD did get the ball, did things with it, but there was not enough offensive momentum for the Vikings to get him the ball as much as we all would have liked.

    =Z=
    I would say these two.
;D You are probably right but that Kleinsasser pass
??? is he really going to give us that game changing play? Although now that I think about it that deep pass attempt to TWill might have opened that run up for Taylor.

I'm just questioning why he didn't use AP more in the 2nd half when he had over 100 yards on 12 carries in the 1st half...and like marstc09 said...it isn't like they had a huge lead on us going into halftime.

    Offensive momentum?
Who's going to GIVE the momentum, if not the guy with the most production in the Offense?
Give the playmaker the damn ball!!!

Our OL and QB killed our momentum. Even if we did run more, it is not like that line would open up a hole.

The point was, they didn't hand off the ball to AD enough in the 2nd half. I only count 2 times he was handed the ball.

The other two times you count were KO returns, not rushes.

Do you honestly believe two handoffs were adequate i the 2nd half?

Because they were pass blocking with their usual success (or lack thereof) for an inept QB.
They seemed to do well enough with run blocking in the first half for AP to get 100+ yards.

JMO, but 3 carries is not a sufficient amount to give your star RB when the score is tight...especially when your QB is either getting sacked or throwing incompletions one right after the other.
We got LUCKY with the Rice TD because a Packer penalty kept that drive alive.

    3-13-MIN 38
(4:13) (Shotgun) 13-K.Holcomb pass short middle to 28-A.Peterson to MIN 44 for 6 yards (50-A.Hawk). PENALTY on GB-50-A.Hawk, Face Mask (15 Yards), 15 yards, enforced at MIN 44.

The running game is successful because of skill and athleticism, while the passing game has been reliant on luck.
I know which one I'd go with when the game's on the line.

I agree 100%. AD is the only star and we need to get him the ball. Wade and Rice are too but we have no QB or OL to get it to them.

I guess you could label AD as a star, but it is better to say, IMHO that the Vikes have a few stars in the making in Rice and AD.

I also believe (I'm in the minority here) that B-wade, Shank and TJ are up and comers as well.

Also, although I agree AD needs to see the ball more it all comes back down to coaching based on down and distance, the clock and what the Defense is doing.

All discussions to date (with a couple of exceptions when I brought it up) haven't even took into account what the GB defense did to take us out of our strength, which I think we all agree is to run.

Again, basic football strategy, run the ball when your ahead and you want to eat up the clock (i.e. 9 minutes to start the half), pass when your behind and the clock isn't on your side.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I hope TJ is going to be that guy. Interesting to see if he bounces back in Chicago.
