exactly, its lose-lose. He can't possibly catch it, either try and knock it down, which I think was his intention, or let it go, possibly straight to the defender.

If you can knock it down, do that. I think he tried to do that, but just couldn't get enough of a hand on it.

    That is all.
If you've played receiver at any level, you know that's not true. There are balls you simply can't do anything with. Hard to catch with the tip of your middle finger on one hand.

Generally, its a good rule of thumb, but that was not a ball that had any business being caught by a Viking.
Actually, I have played WR. And that is COMPLETELY true. "If you get a hand on the ball, you catch it" was drilled in our heads daily.

If you can't catch it, whatever you do, DON'T TIP IT.

    This was a horrible throw

Im not sure if Cam was trying to knock it down or what but I too was taught not to do that

Horrible throw.. Nice heads up play by D.. Idk what the hell cam shoulda done..
Either he should have caught the thing, or NOT tip it. That's what he shoulda done. =)

I'll agree with only your last part.

However, the "if you can get a hand on it, you catch it" is not always true. There are balls you simply can not catch. He shouldn't have tipped it, but none of that changes the fact that he threw a brutal ball.
Considering the fellow who got a hand on it was considered Golden Fingers Camarillo, I'm going to hold him to the same standards my coach held me to as a WR.
    Considered by who?

I consider him a guy who can't even crack the top 3 on the Vikings roster, behind such studs as Berrian.

    2 hand rule not 1.
Also, the rule is.. if you can get one hand on it, you can get both on it.
You have clearly never played WR at any level.
Clearly you have the looking glass into my past..

    /sarcasm off
Judging by your body frame, I doubt you would be an effective WR.

I don't recall who exactly, but he was touted when he was traded as a guy that was targeted 70+ times, and had as many catches as the times he was targeted.

If you went to the game, save your ticket stubs. You should have just witnessed the last game Brett Favre ever plays in.
TJ will not be here next year. Sorry. Did you not see the 3 INTs? Could have been 4. LMFAO!
what do you expect? he has been tutoring under the nfl's career leader in int's.B)

    And missing Percy..
and Favre missed Rice all year.
For sure.. Everyone and thier grandma knows we missed Sid this year.. Hes a freak when healthy

But Percy in the slot is also a huge weapon.. When u have one true target to throw to you will struggle (Favre and Jackson)

Not praising Jackson on this game.. I would critique Favre the exact same if he came off the bench and had no work with ones and was missing a big target (i've defended Favre alot this year)

It's all a team game.. Everyone did thier part.. Jackson I wish woulda done better even with no work with ones and missing Percy.. You gotta be ready all the the time if you wanna cut it in the NFL.. Today he was his old inconsistant self.. And basically what most expected

maybe why the coach teaches him not to catch the ball?

however, the coach taught us in HS, that if we can't make a catch on it, you become a defender and knock it down. That seems to be the most commonly accepted concept.

    LMAO!

Yet last weeks performance by Favre was?

What was it again? Oh yeah, 15/23 for 172 yards & 0 TD's.

This is what I mean about double standards.

Lets not forget Our offense, with Jackson under center, scored more offensive points than Favre has in any game this season.

    AND

He did it without Hutch at LG or Herrera at RG.

I keep forgetting the rule here that a tipped ball is the fault of the QB when TJ's under center & ALWAYS the fault of the receiver when Favre is QB.

Leave it to the haters to not give TJ any credit.

Body weight and frame are two different things.
