Re: OFFICIAL VIKES vs PATS POSTGAME DISCUSSION

I have never seen worse play calling than in the last 2 1/2 min of this game. Do they not know how to spike the ball and stop the clock? Do we have no sideline pass routs to stop the clock? When you need two scores does the coach not understand about throwing it deep and looking for a pass interference call? Randy Moss knows how to get those calls why not throw it up for him? Moss is right, coaching lost this game.

Favre had a good game going and I have no complaints with his play. Our run defense sucked. Our pass rush sucked. But we were still in the game till half way through the fourth quarter.

TJ will not replace Favre. He got a pass on the one yrd line when everyone expected AP to run. He ran the ball well on one play but other than that he wasn't that good. Maybe he could be a wild cat QB but starter....no way.

This team has no heart, no discipline, minimal football IQ, they don't feel like a team to me. It's like a series of independent, albeit incredibly talented pieces, with nothing holding them together.

The Childress-Favre tenure is over. Favre's jaw is fucked up, he's going to retire this week. Then Childress has to go. We need a coach who's going to instill some discipline and fire this team up.

This team is way too talented to lose. Something needs to be done. Fire Brad Childress.

    Good post.

Favre, Harvin and AP are the only ones that have heart and the desire to win IMO.

I don't see what all the complaining is about.

Isn't this about what we expected?

We knew our secondary and pass rush were weak, so that was no surprise.

We played a damned good team and our QB was hurt pretty badly even before the game.

Then he was banged around and knocked out of the game.

That usually indicates to savvy fans that you're going to lose.

Luckily, Favre (quite miraculously) was not seriously hurt.

I was pleased that we held our own in the first half.

We may win some games from here on out and have some fun.

Everybody should chill and count our blessings.

    You're right.

After almost making the Super Bowl, I guess we should've suspected we would be a pathetic 2-5 in 2010.

What in the hell were we thinking?

Re: OFFICIAL VIKES vs PATS POSTGAME DISCUSSION

This game was a disappointment, of course, but we were taken out of it by our own coach. I enjoy the Vikings, but I hate seeing them beaten by their own coach. Childress really should be fired. There are at least four key decisions that took the team out of contention to win games this year alone, and the one last week was the worst of all--walking off the field with thirty seconds on the clock and the ball in your hands. Jheeez.

Did you hear his interview with Greg Coleman after teh game today? Greg asked about the decision not to take the fieldgoal. "We wanted to be aggressive. I thought we had a good play called. You want to let your guys know you have confidence in them."

Really? Three points and the lead at halftime would not have helped their confidence?

Childress is a technician--nothing more and nothing less. He wants his team to act like chess pieces and do exactly as they are told--i.e. follow his system. But his system is clearly a joke, as so many bad decisions have shown. Those seem to occur when he thinks he has an instinct, or something. He's in way over his head. He has no instinct for football. No ability to lead people, or motivate them, or work with their natures as human beings. Zigi should relieve him of his misery--and ours.

My kingdom for a coaching staff that can make adjustments.

Personally, I don't think there is intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?
