I can say this for myself, I"ve never been much for Gumbo, so I was excited to try Cajun's, I can now say this after trying his.

Cajun's gumbo was the best I've ever tried, does this suprise me?
NO !

Anything made with care, from scratch, with good ingredients, will usually beat out anything from a store or restaurant, any day of the week.
I'm still not crazy about gumbo, but thats just my taste buds, agian though, Cajuns was very good and the best gumbo I've had to this day.



My chili,
I also have made for many years now,
and I usually can be found making a big batch of chili ( my mother showed me how to make it years ago)
three or four times a football season, for gameday.

I like Cajun, use only the best and freshest of ingredients that I can find.
I usually use beans also, but Mars asked if I could omit the beans, and I did.






Bottom line for me is, they are both totaly different dishes to begin with, so it's like comparing Steak to Lobster.

It also has alot to do with taste buds.

Some will like Gumbo more, some will like Chili more.

I highly doubt someone is going to say, Cajuns gumbo taste like do do ,and Ned's chili Sucks.







What I do know and believe is, both where prepaired with alot of care and love, with hopes that our friends and family would enjoy both and get their bellys full.




I think between both Cajun's Gumbo and my Chili,
no one went hungry, and there where alot of smiling faces when the eating was done.
