Re: * OFFICIAL * Reflections On The Bears Game
Hey there Jargo...I know this is a game where I would definitely cut TW some slack cause we won...I actually him dropping a couple today...I'll check later...ya, he did make some key plays...I hope he can make more...he's just going to have to a LOT more to get my approval...just too inconsistent to make me believe in him...but your right...team sport...hope he improves from this....(his drops just get to me!!!)

Re: * OFFICIAL * Reflections On The Game
Kindof worries me that we couldn't put the game away.
Looks like someone (at least 3) need to get thier asses kicked for being a bit to laid back.
A game isn't won until there are nothing but zero's on the clock.
TJ did a good job today.
He had some passes hit the WR's in thier hands early on that should have been caught.
I liked the little shuvel pass as well as a couple he decided to throw away.
Couple of times I think he should have ran, however, we don't need him to pull the groin again.
I only say 3 really bad passes (1 over threw Shank, 1 over throw on T-will deep and 1 behind reciever that could/should have been intercepted late in the game).
Overall a GOOD, not great, job by TJ today.
WR's.
Finally a deep pass to T-will.
It was almost 2.
By my count, T-will (2 drops), Rice (2 drops), B-wade (2 drops).
All made catches (i.e. Rice's one great catch on 3rd down/T-will's TD) make up for thier
drops.
Overall the WR's did just enough to keep the Defense from stacking the box on every play.
Seemed to me all of the large gains followed passing plays.
I still have to check the box score to verify that one.
By the way, Fergy almost made me a believer today, however.........
;D
Defense.
A pretty good job.
Again, not great.
We need to figure out how to get a pass rush.
Could have been better against the run as well.
They let Benson run up the middle which was bad.
Also they didn't really get much pressure on the QB when passing.
Griffin had a nice day as well as McCauley.
Both played well enough for us to win.
Bad thing is I think they (the secondary) started celebrating a bit early.
The Chiller needs to get in thier ass over that.
Kicking.
Great job by Kluwe and Longwell today.
One return by Hester isn't to bad.
I am still undecided if we blew that or he is just that good.
That man is dangerous.
Longwell is now my new hero.
Good job my friend.
Coaching.
Other than a few plays by the secondary there at the end, I thought the team was ready to play.
Nice balance of pass and run. I like the way they used the pass to setup the run today.
The deep balls to T-will were well timed in relation to what was going on in the game.
Anyone else notice that during the Max Protect on the deep TD that they had a RB leaking out as a check valve.
Very nice. Again, room to grow but a nice job.
OL. They sure played alot better today.
Do they still have some room to grow?
YUP.
T-wills TD was nothing more than max protect with T-will trying to out run everybody. I only saw one penalty but will have to check the box score on that one.
One thing they need to work on is keeping the pocket (when they can establish one) a bit bigger for the QB.
Smallest pocket I have ever seen.
RB's.
Anyone want to argue that this staff isn't using thier backs correctly?
Before you do, take a look at the long runs by AD.
He was well rested for all of them.
CT spelled him at key times and had big runs as well.
Nothing like a two headed monster when we try to exploit a defense like the Bears.
Additionally, anyone want to argue about why AD shouldn't be on Kickoff Returns?
That, like last games, were key returns that were huge in our win.
Long story short, I saw a team today that made mistakes, but I also saw a team today that seems to be able to get over those mistakes.
The future is nearer than some think my friends.
;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: * OFFICIAL * Reflections On The Bears Game
I still think we shouldn't be risking him on kick returns Marr.
Williamson looked very good as well, and would have taken that last kick just as far, if not farther than Peterson did. There was a lane straight up the middle, and they have similar speed, Williamson is probably a bit faster.
I'm just getting back to school after being home for the weekend so I have to fold some clothes and take a shower, but I'll post my reflections in an hour or two.

Very nice post my friend.Just a little thougths of that electrifying game
1The OLine looks quite better
2.Chester Taylor got a good game
3.It is unacceptable winning with about 5 minutes left 31-17 and ending this way......
4.It is weird but the D was a little weak against their run and the deep D was weak as well
5.Longwell did it from 55 yards, give that man credit
6.With AP ,the playaction is gonna be important for us in the coming weeks ,so wake up receivers!!!
7.TJ looked fine with a very solid veteran play...The man got arms, man!!
8.SRice has to get more balls.....
Go Vikes!!!!!!

Only thing is a Kick Return is better than Punt Returns.
On a Kick Return he has time to survey the field thus limiting the possibility of getting hurt.
I for one would love to see Allison doing the Kick Returns if AD doesn't do them..Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

If the dog wouldn't have stopped to shit he would have caught the rabbit.I'm not impressed....l ook what we had to do to win by 3:
-2 INT's
-200+ yards/ 3 TD's / 50+ yard kickoff return from Peterson
-55 yard field goal by Longwell
Now imagine if T-Jack had 1 or 2 interceptions. ...we got lucky. Something's got to happen with this secondary
Comeon my friend, you can what if it to death.
TJ did his job and that was not to make mistakes, put the ball in the RB and WR's hands.
He did that pretty well today.
His numbers would have been alot better if 5 or 6 of the passes that hit recievers in the hands would have been caught. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I couldn't get on for over an hour.It is also sad that when we win things here are quiet as opposed to when we lose.
The entire week will be a lot quieter than the past few.
Thought more people would come in a celebrate after a good win.
Nothing wrong with venting, but we have a lot lore traffic when we blow it.
And when I did, I kept getting locked out.
Must have been a few on here. ;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: * OFFICIAL * Reflections On The Bears Game
Running game looks to be the best in the league.
Defense got lazy in the 4th quarter and needed to get their heads in the game rather than think about how they were going to celebrate at the club.
TWill made up for a couple vital drops...so did Rice.
Almost get the impression that TJack needs to take some juice off the ball so he isn't breaking his WR's fingers or putting holes into their chests.
He also had a couple overthrown that would have been nice gainers e.g. Richardson play.
AD is already the ROY after a record breaking performance.
Longwell saved a lot of defensive players some added grief.
Big game next week...LETS DO THIS!!!Rock out with your cock out!!!

Re: * OFFICIAL * Reflections On The Bears Game
AP was amazing but our line has got to get a TON of credit. I have not seen them play like that in years. Good job o-line.
Now we just need to pick up one more decent CB and we could win a few more games."If you want me to go out there and get you 4 yards, I ll get you 4 yards. If you want me to go out there and get 6 yards, I ll go out there and get you 4 yards" -LeRoy Hoard Former Viking

Re: * OFFICIAL * Reflections On The Bears Game
Did anyone notice when Wildwoman showed up with more beer?
I had a moment of panick when I ran out with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd QTR.
She went out for more and got called to work.
She didn't show up again until just before AD ran the Kick Off back to set up the FG.
;D
That is twice I've ran out this year.
Almost a costly mistake.
I will never let it happen again my friends.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
