The D played good again. No big plays.

Gus got it done, and our running game looked good.

Our special teams needs ALOT of help. Every aspect of the ST sucks.

    Great game, SKOL Vikes

Better! Much better. Our defense destroyed them in the second half.

I'll eat my crow, sort of, Gus did better than TJ. I still believe that play calling was more of an issue than QB play, but the stats are there now...

VikesFan787, Thanks for the awesome sig!

Gus is light years better than Tjack; which is significant considering that Gus is an average QB.

Our D made a statement today.

Our special teams are absolutely horrible! I thought we brought in Hicks to be our kick off man?? Why is he not there? Anyone else wish we had kept JJ to return punts?

All and all, Great performance against a good team. The Defense is really comming together.

    SKOL!!!

Re: OFFICIAL POSTGAME THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

I have a friend who is a big Gus Frerrotte fan. He has always felt Frerrotte can lead a team all the way. I'm starting to think he's on to something.

The Defense - This unit is like a purple wrecking crew. Amazing. EJ Henderson, Jared Allen, and Antoine Winfield all made big plays.

The Offense - Wow. Frerrotte has the arm and the ability to read defenses. He moves effectively in the pocket.
Pass protection was pretty good, but could get more consistent.

Ball control - The efficient passing offense and the running game took control in the second half. The Vikings finished with 34 minutes in time of possession.

Bernard Berrian - Pretty good. I thought he had turf toe. It didn't show today. The interception was partially on Berrian and partially on Frerrotte.

Tarvaris Jackson - Tarvaris needs another year on the sidelines. He has four challenges. First, he needs to develop more as a leader. Second, he needs more NFL experience or more development so he can stay relaxed in pressure situations. Third, he needs to develop more accuracy in throwing the ball. Fourth, he has to overcome the injury he suffered in the preseason game with the Ravens. He should have a chance to compete for the starting job next year. We should keep him, as he still has lots of future potential.

Visanthe Shiancoe - He came through in a big way with the Vikings' only offensive touchdown.

Offensive play calling - Improved. Frerrote gives Bevell more options. I wouldn't mind seeing Brian Billick, Lane Kiffin, or Scott Linehan working for Bevell as an offensive creative consultant.

    Good job, Vikes!

    Go Vikings!
