Re: Official Post Game Thoughts and Observations vs Lions
T-Jack was simply clutch today. It was an ugly win, but I'll take it anyday as long as we stay in first. Gus was horrible, by all means. 2 ints to the Lions? I don't think a QB has thrown 2 against the Lions this year, and Gus managed to do it. T-Jack deserves the game ball, he came in, not having many reps and boom. He goes 8-10 and a TD. I don't know yet, on who will start this weekend. Childress has to really consider T-Jack as the man again. He looks like he improved mightly. SKOL VIKINGS!

Re: Official Post Game Thoughts and Observations vs Lions
ugly win, but a win's a win.
My breakdown..
Quarterbacks: B-
Gus looked bad, i mean real bad.
Tj looked actually pretty good.
He got lucky one one pass, he was hit when he threw, lucky it wasn't a pick, and he's awful at the long ball, wasn't even 10 yards from Berrian, but other than that, good job.
was 8/10 or something like that with a td.
runningbacks: A-
Did peterson dip his hands in popcorn oil before the game?
HOLD THE BALL!!(unrelated news, texans are in field goal range
)
CT had some great runs, AD had some great runs, when he held the ball.
OLine: A- pretty good job, could have done better on opening holes for the runner
decent pass protection.
Recievers/TE:
No drops that I can think of, not many passes thrown though.
Defensive Line: B
Got a few sacks, but let up lots of rushing yards and gave Pep 220 yards.
Allen really showed up, got cheap-shotted, but came back and got two sacks.
That stop on 4th down was key to the win.
Linebackers: B again, gave up lots of rush yards, shaky in pass coverage
Secondary: C+ can we cover anyone?
Please?
Culpepper averages a pick and a half a game this year, but nothing this game.
ST:
C+/B-Longwell was spot on, Kluwe had a couple great boots.
Both teams only punted twice.
Kickoff and punt coverage needs work, and we absolutely suck at blocking on kicks.
Coaching: B+
calling that challenge was a good call, a couple of iffy playcalls in the first half, but we came out with the win, which is all that matters.

Re: Official Post Game Thoughts and Observations vs Lions
I know T-Jack haters are tired of the playcalling being blamed but the playcalling was much less predictable today than it was the first 2 games of the season and it helped out T-Jack, AD, and the entire offense. And look what happens.
Skol Vikings! Go Cubs!

I agree. The Lions played well. We should not be too down on the close game.It was a close game, but not because either team was particularly bad, both teams played well (DET in the 1st, MN in the 2nd). I think Detroit really wanted it, and they played to get that win.
TJack seems to have had some of the cobwebs knocked out of him by riding the bench.
JA was pissed after that cheap shot and played to match his mood.
At the end of the day, no matter how bad the Lions are, they are still NFL athletes and they can still fight to get a win. They wanted it and played for it. Yes it was ugly, but I still take more positives than negative from the game.
Oh and everytime AD plays the Lions, they use their 'Fumblitis' Madden card on him, no joke.

Re: Official Post Game Thoughts and Observations vs Lions
Shank is a beast and i've said it all along
Jackson should start and a few wanted it all along
The D stepped up when needed but overall played not so good
We got lucky the Lions didn't kick 2 FGs in the redzone instead of going for it
Ill take the win, the Lions ALWAYS seem to play us close
