Ray and the Maul of America owned this team...Rays jump at Staffords head??? Are you kiddin me!!

Offense did a lot of good things - especially AP, Favre, Sid and Percy.

Things never go perfectly to plan against the kitties but a well earned W

Im sorry we didnt try to get Rice some pass yards in teh end. He would have broken a record with only 10 more yards.

Other than that... Penaltys, fumbles and dropped passes killed our drives, who looked very good. We marched donw the filed at seemingly and more often than not, at will.

Defence and especially Edwards was a beast. Many passes from stafford was up in teh air, and could have, witha bit of luck been picked off.

If the players was like me... I had no worry at all and no doubt that we would win this game... And I think we were over confident. Seattle will be harder and I hope they get the byeweek rust off!!

I hope it was just bye-week rust, but we looked sloppy.

Berrian was effectively useless today. We should have pulled him after the second drop.

Four men and a baby, Triple P, Shock and Awwe, whatever you want to call them were great.

Officiating was suspect, but not as blatantly one-sided as the Pittsburgh game. When is the NFL going to spring for full-time officials?

Sidney Rice is awesome, we need to start giving him some TDs, he's earned them.

Childress/Bevell are still offensive jackasses IMO. If it weren't for our incredible talent level and Brett Favre they'd both be out of a job. Playcalling was really questionable at times today, again, hopefully bye-week rust.

Why run gadget plays against a team we can beat straight up? Save them for a real opponents, and make sure we can fucking execute them when we break them out.

    Nice post brotha

    Re: OFFICIAL LIONS POSTGAME THREAD

    First half was uuuuugly.

    PLaycalling was odd.
We tried some tricky plays, but 3rd and 8 on the 10 and we run a draw?
    wtf?
    throw it.
Draws need the D to space out to work, they don't spread out in the redzone.
The Dugan dive was bad too.
The annoucners even said "Don't run up the middle, give it to peterson on the edges" and sure enough, Dugan dive upthe middle into 4 white jerseys.

A couple fumbles hurt, I think that reverse was pulled out too early.
I really don't think it was practiced enough in practice.

Having said that, our execution was quite good.
A couple drops hurt, but aside from two fumbles and a stop on 4th down, we were moving the ball great.
We missed out on about 21 points in the first half alone.
Game should not have been that close at halftime.

    What I liked:
D line: Especially ray Edwards was on Fire.
Allen didn't get a sack, but he pressured the QB alot (not to mention got held quite frequently)
Kennedy, Robison and Williams were also in Staffords face all day.

Blocking: Our OL did a pretty good job.
A few lapses on pass protection, but we opened up some holes in the run, and protected Favre pretty well.

Rice: Need I say more? 201 yards.
    Just great

    Needs work:
As usual, pass coverage is atop this list.

Berrian needs to get his hands checked for holes

    Stopping the run.
I stil don't understand how we go from 1st 3 years in a row to being this bad, i suspect safety play has alot to do with it.
Fortunately we get up by enough that teams can't milk the run game on us.

I'd like to see some interceptions.
We started the season well, but haven't had any in about 4 games.

    Position grades:

    QB: A
As usual, a great game by Favre.
RB: A- if not for the two fumbles, this would be A+
Averaged about 7.5 yards a carry.
OL: A- Decent run blocking, pass blocking had a few hiccups, but was still good for most of the game.
WR: A- If not for Berrian sucking it up, this would be A+
TE: B- made some good blocks, and a couple drops, could be better.

    DL: A+ looking great.
Loads of pressure and kept the inside run game in check
LB: C bad pass coverage, and sucked at filling in on the outside runs.
CB: B- pretty medicore performance, let up a few catches, but nothing huge.
Made some nice plays against hte run
S: C bad pass coverage at times, did make some nice plays, but they couldn't fill in on the run either.

    Coaching: C-
I wondered at times wtf they were thinking.
Draw on 3rd and 8 near the goalline with Favre? Whats with the gadget plays? Especially if we cna't execute them.

    Overall grade: B
We dominated this game, but we were incredibly un-clutch.
A couple costly fumbles by peterson, some suspect playcalling bring this grade down.

    8-1.
AD had some amazing runs again and one fuck up.
    Edwards played his best game.
    Sidney was amazing once again.

Only 64 yards in the air for Favre, too bad he doesn't have the arm that he used to have.
Still waiting for him to fall apart at the end of the season, but enjoying it in the mean time.

And, the world hasn't ended yet, so all in all, a pretty good weekend.
