Re: The Vikings and Brett Favre could be a great fit

The Football fan in me says that this would be a good move.
The article has a few good points, and he would certainly fill any uncertainty at QB, giving TJ some of the time he so much needs to sit an actually learn from a real QB instead of learning on the fly.
It would be beneficial to the organization as well as TJ.

The Vikings fan in me say no way in hell this happens.
Unlike Marrdro, I don't care where a player played before he came to the vikings, you can't control where you get drafted to (unless your name is Manning).
I fully support Sharper, Longwell and Ferguson.
But I think Favre is a little Extreme.
It would be like Tom Brady playing for the Dolphins, or Peyton Manning playing for the Titans.
    Its just too weird.

I would hate it if that actually did happen, but at the same time, it could very well just be what we need to win the superbowl.
    Think about it.
What are the biggest knocks against our passing game?
    1st, is QB decision making.
one of the biggest knocks on TJ is how long it takes for him to make a decision.
Favre makes very quick decisions, getting the ball out faster.

    2nd knock is Pass protecion.
It doesn't really matter, because if the ball is out quick enough, the qb won't get sacked anyway.
Green Bay's (essentially) rookie Oline isn't as good as they appear.
The reason they look so good is because of Favre.
    3rd is recievers.
if a Reciever can't catch the ball in stride, he won't look too good, as there will be a lot of jump balls, and balls thrown behind the reciever, so there go the YAC.
Favre is pretty good at putting the ball in a spot where the reciever has room to run, which is why Jennings looked so good last year.
I'm confident he could do the same with Rice, Berrian and Wade.

    Still don't want him though.

    So to answer the poll.
Would the Vikings and Favre be a good fit?
    Yes.
Would I like to see it?
    No.

I can only see him as a locker room spirit kinda like the Cris Carter
did for the rookies. He could really inspire the locker room show some of them who really don t appreciate the nfl as much to show them how much it feels to play with pride and fun for the game. That is what I would see him doing.....Not as a player....
I am THE #1 Sidney Rice #18 Fan ever! Don't Be surprised when this kid IS a superstar! He is humble, smart, tough, talented and has alot of character! Takes alot of pride in his work, team, fans and life. Watch out for this kid! I think he is awesome! Everytime he touches the ball its MAGIC!

I can't see him in anything but the hideous green and gold....he would be foolish to come back. What happends to Veteran QB's when they go to another franchise? Usually they get hurt and or don't perform to the legendary status they aquire to me that would be a huge mistake.
Like Montana...Was effective with KC, but no where near what he was in San Fran. Although I think this may be a much diff situation going to a division rival, I can't stand the thought of Favre in P&G... :-
