Two weeks ago, the biggest question was, simply put, who’s going to be the Vikings’ quarterback?

Minnesota needs to start Ponder now and forget any notion about delaying the Ponder-era. Bringing in Donovan McNabb or Carson Palmer or Alex Smith isn’t going to change the fact that Ponder was the 12th pick in the draft and will be sitting there waiting. Yes, you want a winning and productive quarterback, no matter who it may be. But if a veteran comes in and wins, then this No. 12 pick could have easily been an impact defensive player that could have boosted a unit needing life at the moment.

    Just another media hack, no?

Or is it that only those publishing anything negative about Ponder is a media hack & anyone publishing only good things about him is worthy of you posting it here?
Nothing behind it other than I was posting an article that came up. Let me know if you are the only one allowed to do that from now on.
So is that a yes or no that this guy is one of those media hacks you speak of?
No, that is Marty's bit. Not mine.
I disagree. When Marty posted an article where the author stated Ponder "floated" the deep ball, you referred to that author as a media hack or very similar words. Remember that discussion with Marty?
Probably not but he is a big boy and can take care of himself.

Go find one of Caines posts and twist it around some more.
Nobody twisted Caine's post. He posted an opened ended response like that & he got feedback based on that interpretation.

No matter what response was posted towards that comment, he could have easily stated it was interpreted wrong. Ergo, a convenient back door.

This isn't about Marty being a big boy. Marty was used in an example where you referred to an author being a hack, which you denied. Marty's not the one in question and has nothing to answer for, but I'm sure he's not as forgetful about your response as you are.
Really it is a bit boring as far as I am concerned but if it is a big deal to you, then pull up the whole conversation, make sure it is presented in the context it was written in and then I will give you your answer.
There's no need. I already know the answer, thus my initial post.
Considering your lack of ability to understand context of so many peoples posts I highly doubt you know. But if it amuses you then feel free.
Well, since you asked so nicely.....

Seen alot of deep balls thrown, when that cat was on, there were none prettier.

Judging by the scouting reports Ponder tends to "Float" the deep ball a bit. I hope, if thats the case, they keep him from working that aspect until he gets his defensive reads down. Floaters tend to be brought back the other way in this league.
Those scouting reports were written by some hack on a computer listening to some other hack like Dilfer spew his drivel as you say. Wait until you see him throw before you make the call.

While he certainly won't have Cunninghams arm ( Few do) it will do just fine.
Do you remember the conversation now?

Yeah, that was in reference to how Marr always claims "Media Hack" when they print something that contradicts what he says. But I guess that part was lost on you.As I said before- Make sure you post the context and as a side note make sure you understand the context before you make a big deal out of a statement.

I understand it perfectly. Whether you were mimicking Marrdro or not, the point is you didn't like this guys comments, because basically he was a nobody posting a scouting report, which you happened to disagree with.

Then you turn around and post a draft analysis by a different nobody, that you happened to like the analysis of, as if his stuff had more validity.

He is still a nobody, a hack or whatever you want to call him, just as the other guy was.

The difference here is I wasn't quoting a media hack. I was referencing what was said about him in a scouting report that I pay for each year.

What a scout says and what a media hack says are two different things in my book.

By the way, if you have the money, Ourlads, NFL Scouting Services, has some of the best stuff you can get your hands on.

The post that I made was just a post of an article and nothing more. I wasn't using it to make a point or change the world with an opinion. It was simply made to try to add life to a board that hasn't had much in a while. If you read anything else into it than that I feel sorry for you.

What does Ponder need to be the week 1 starter?

    http://thevikingage.com/2011/05/18/what-does-ponder-need-to-be-the-week-1-starter/

Leslie Frasier made it clear that he wanted a quarterback that he could plug in to the starting lineup early on. Now that he has his man in Christian Ponder, what will it take to get him on the field in week one?

Re: The Official Christian Ponder Thread

Hey guys, new member so sorry havent read all 25 pages on this topic.

Christian Ponder brings the perfect skillset for our offense but dont forget that Vikings was trying to get up to the number 9 overall pick (cowboys) to get Gabbert.
That is what i believe was going on until the last second after the Titans past on Gabbert.

The Vikings prolly had a 1-5 rank on the QB's and would have taken the best that was availible, if Ponder would have been of the board i thing we would have picks Dalton.
    None
