So what is the other part?
He may want to retire a Viking after winning 3 straight SB's with us
The true measure of a man is what he'd do knowing he'd never be found out.

    I love these quotes.

The Vikings also have to be thinking Favre could help a team that won the NFC North last season. With a roster that includes quarterbacks such as Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels, the Vikings would be crazy not to consider Favre as a viable solution to their problems.
What Favre also has to be tempted by is the possibility of orchestrating a far more satisfying ending to his career than the one he had in New York.
it had to be the worst possible ending he could have envisioned.
    Too much makes sense.

Childress declined on Friday to directly answer a question about whether he plans to speak to Favre soon.

Great....this is all I need. I don't take enough crap from dumb Pucker fans. Here's the scenerio...we sign Favre, he take us to the Supe and we win. Now for the rest of my life I can hear from Packer fans how it took an ex-Packer to get us a ring. Yea Chilly, don't wait, sign him quick.
Then you can tell them that thanks to A.D. and company Brett finally got another ring.
Something the Packers couldn't get him again.

    from nfl.com

Asked whether the Vikings have discussed the possibility of pursuing Favre now that he's a free agent, Childress said no.

"We haven't. It doesn't mean we won't," Childress said.

    Re: Favre-To-Vikes Heating Up

You can not prevent the inevitable.
Favre is more stubborn than Chilly and if the Packers forced him into a contract where he couldnt be a viking, he was going to find a way out of it.
He played this perfectly and now can get what he has wanted for the past 2 years.
"There are 3 things that sell in America:
    Violence, sex, and drugs.
The only way you are going to make this game more appealing to the public than it was before is if there are on field orgies at halftime and the domes become massive opium dens."
