Re: The Official Adrian Peterson Thread
obviously AP is a good player, and i dont think trading him is the most realistic idea ever concieved, but think about it...hes good, but he cant win the games by himself. just like peyton or LT teams would kill for him we could get a new qb or even more. which would hopefully help develop our O into a more dynamic group...it could be more than just run run run run occasionally pass on 3rd run run run. we saw how the eagles just stuffed our run over and over in the end of the second and third, and the fourth was just horrific. not that i really want to get rid of our team...but theres no harm discussing it.

I guess some people love those 6-10 seasons.
Franchise AP, get it over with.I hope Goodell chokes on his next meal.

There's a difference between coining someone the "Franchise Player" and a "Franchise Tag." A tag is what you do if you want to keep an unrestricted free agent on your team for one more season, usually a transition period to replace the player or to use the season to move capspace around to resign him. Since AP has three years left on his rookie contract."carta4eva" wrote:

Re: The Official Adrian Peterson Thread
Okay, now I think you have taken it a little too far. Why would the Vikings ever trade away the best running back in the NFL? That would be proposterous. I hope to god, you never get to be a GM or an owner of an NFL franchise. All we need is a QB, and we are superbowl contenders. If we get rid of AD, then all is lost. So, what would you rather have?

Re: The Official Adrian Peterson Thread
Do not trade AP. Defenses key on him and good defenses will occasionally stop him. If a D plays up to stop the run, improved O-line could help get him past the 1st wave of defenders and then he's gone. Improved QB play would force defenses to respect the pass as well, thereby opening more running lanes for him.
And really, he's only in his second year. Do you really want to trade him and watch him excell for somebody else for years?
