Thread: Offensive line

In the beginning of the season, I would say, especially in the Tampa, Atlanta, Carolina, and Cincy games, I was really down on our offensive line. It seemed like the same old thing: penalties all over the place. I also firmly believe that winning in football is in the trenches, or at least, if you don't have that, you can't win.

So when I sat down on Sunday to watch the Giants -Vikes game, and heard about Strahan visiting some dude in the hospital who had a brain tumor, and that it fired him up, I was thinking, uh oh, here we do again. Strahan is going to have another HUGE game against us. What else is new.

I think the real news is the GREAT job our O-line did on Sunday !!! Especially Rosenthal vs. Strahan (if I got that matchup right). Ok, Strahan was mostly double-teamed, but I really think one aspect of our winning is that our offensive line has stepped up, big-time.

No doubt, Brad Johnson taking like 4 seconds in the pocket, rather than the 17 that Culpepper did, reduces the time that you have to draw a hold, but still... I think our offensive line is stepping up, big-time. :grin:

I think our line still has a ways to go. We just are not opening up any holes for people to run through. Also, blitzes seem to blow us up quite often, we are lucky BJ got up after the one hit. That is on the line and on the blocking RB, but we still have a ways to go.

Our line is improving each week. They're not where they need to be yet, but time will tell.

As long as we improve every week. What is going on with that big guard we got from San Diego? Are they gonna put him in the lineup?
Rosey, and Jimmy K did a good job on Strahan, we just didn't have enough bodies to block that corner blitz that almost killed Brad.
I think that guy led with his helmet and it should have been a penalty.

yeah he's certainly big enough. that dude is a monster

They need to play at top form for us to have a chance at having a decent offense...which could be enough if our defense continues to play well. The better the offense plays, the less time that our defense has to be on the field, which will only make them better...it's a snowball effect!

so far i want our special team on as much as possible. but i only want one kick return a game and a lot of punt returns lol
