    THAT was my entire point!

I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

    I agree 100% with that.
Even though he is not playing well I still like BJ.
He is having a tough year.
Maybe its time to give someone else a shot.
However he is a good guy and I am not going to dump on him for doing what he could to help this team out.
He was put in a tough situation with all the changes and he was a stand up guy about it and a class act.
He did the best he could.
I am not going to rag on him for it and neither should anyone else.
Thats a fair point. At the end of the day he played to the best of his ability and unfortunately that was found to not be good enough. He hasn't bitched or whined about things to anybody, just got on with his job and took his lumps. The coaching staff should have realised this earlier.
    Exactly.
    Think about it.
He was hired as a backup.
Came in last year and did a good job after Peps injury and horrible start.
In the off season PEP forces himself to be traded off the team.
BJ gets a new Head Coach an entire new coaching staff.
    A whole new offense.
    A new O line.
    A new backfield.
A receiving corp that drops his passes.
    And a new owner.
That would be a tough assignment for any QB to fill I don't care who it is.
A single tear falls from my eye.

BJ got something alot of NFL players don't, another chance.
He blew it, sucks but it is what it is.
    Wave bye bye now.

Well he got another chance to get hurt I will give you that.
Its not like he is playing for a top 10 offense and his poor play is the reason they failed.
Our offense has more problems than just the QB position.
I will admit he isn't playing great ball but that isn't all his fault.
You will note that Bolinger got sacked and injured the min he was put in.
TJ got stripped and fumbled the min he got put in.
    Think about it.

Two good games against the Bears and the better team won.
Two games that in recent years we would have been able to pull out atleast one victory to get the split.
Chalk this one up to let's say, "a rebuilding year."

We'll get them next year, TWICE, to even this score.

Its not all doom and gloom to me because I now consider this a rebuilding year. If our defense (for the most part) and our rushing offense can keep this up, and do the same next year, then all we need is a passing team and better coverage on returns and we have a good chance.

(I know you can poke a bunch of holes in my theory, like "the passing d is only adequate, they got lucky against the Bears" or whatever, but I'm just trying to keep my chin up and stay optimistic)
    WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

    In AP I trust

I think its pretty damn gloomy. New owners, new head coach, coaching staff, million dollar oline and we suck elephant balls. The Vikes as a team are much worse then last year. Childress could get his own coaching staff, somethine tice couldnt. Childress could spend the money on whoever he wanted. He has taught the vikes how to be second rate, to let oppertunities slip by. We have had so many chances to win games but cant. Because childress sucks as a coach and a play caller. I dont think we will be any better next year. 7-9 this year, maybe 8-8 next. Still not as good as tice had us on his way out, and tice sucked.

Wow! Way to jump on a guy right off the bat. This is his first year...don't be so harsh. Personally, I think it was good that we started 4-2, and 5-7 isn't all that bad given the changes that you referenced.

A new coaching staff, 2nd year owners, first year players, a team that is beat up...I'd say 5-7 isn't an awful record given those circumstances. Heck, Tice was 6-10 his first year.

We should all face it. As geared up as we were starting 4-2, this team did not have the talent to go 10-6/11-5/12-4 and win the division. First of all, Injuries ruined our depth on defense, especially in the secondary. Second of all, our best playmaking receiver crapped out on us a few weeks before the season and left our receiving corps undermanned and untalented. Third, our #1 pick from last year developed a case of the dropsies. Finally, our "game manager" quarterback all of a sudden started pressing and throwing picks left and right.

Very few, if any of those circumstances were foreseeable. That's a lot of change to go through in one year for any coach, especially someone in their first year.

Don't be so quick to judge. Give the guy 3 years...then we'll talk about whether or not he's succeeding.
