Thread: Noob to PP.O Going to 1st ever Vikes Game on Sunday - Suggestions?

Hello all,

Obviously, I'm a first time poster on the PP.O boards.
I've been lurking here and there for a while, but finally broke down and registered.

To introduce myself, my name is Brad and I live in Billings, MT.
I've been a Vikes fan going on 20 years now and am completely stoked to be coming to the Twin Cities to my first live Vikings game this Sunday against the hated Packers.
My wife and I will be driving out decked in purple and will be cheering loudly from the 40 yd. line for our beloved purple gang.

I was just wanting to pick the brains of the Metrodome vets who have gone to many a Viking game.
Any suggestions, tips, etc.?
I really want to make the most of our first Viking experience.

First and foremost, you need to come tailgate with us.
The official tailgating thread is here.
We have five premium spots in purple lot #1.
Park your car in one of the nearby ramps and walk to the lot.
We get there around 8:00 and it is a blast!

Come the tailgate and get some genuine Cajun GUMBO and RED BEANS AND RICE...prepared by yours truly!

Come find the PPO tailgate on gameday for a fun party with good people.

Just to add to my previous post.
The lot we tailgate in is Purple 1.
Here is a map:

There are around 40 of us who will be there, and we have a huge PurplePride.Org banner, so we are hard to miss.
Look for us in the SE corner of the lot - if we get the same spots as the opener, we will literally be the closest spots to the dome!
There will be a couple of grills set up to, so if you want to bring something to throw on you can.
Caj is going to be bringing some good cajun food, and I, like always, will have some purple jello shooters (although I promise to remember to spray the cups this time so they come out easily).

The tailgating lot is also right next to the plaza, where there will be live stages, booths, food, beer, entertainment, etc.
The plaza is free as well.

PM me if you need directions in downtown minny to the lot.
If you intend on going, I can give you my cell # as well to make sure we meet up.

Someone needs to bring a BIGGER grill this time...maybe one that stands up at waist level instead of on the ground.
