    For NoDakPaul and Marr

I found the link you asked for that talks about Tice and the Offensive system when he took over.

    Here you go:

    http://archive.sportingnews.com/nfl/articles/20020625/412806.html

    Here is the first reference:

The first major decision I made was to hire Scott Linehan as my offensive coordinator. He's done everything I thought he would do, and that is to adapt a two-tight end offense to whatever coverages teams were giving us to try and take Randy Moss out of the game, and to be able to line up Randy in a variety of formations and at a number of different positions and make him the No. 1 or No. 2 read in the quarterback's passing progression.

And then this, which was the quote that I was referring to:

We're going back to a two-tight end offense, sort of the Joe Gibbs offense, which we ran here in the early '90s. I think in a two-tight end offense you can be more balanced in your formations and you pose more problems for the defense. It's hard for the defense to decide where your strength is. Secondly, you can run the ball better out of two-tight end formations; that's a proven fact. Thirdly, I don't particularly like the "I" as a bread-and-butter formation.

That doesn't sound to me like he is just staying with the same playbook.

It sounded to me in this interview like he did a pretty fair job of knowing where he wanted to take the offense. In fact, this is the same offense that I suggested we should be running last season considering our talent.

Good stuff in this article to dissect and spin until the training camp starts ;D

You mean the offense we ran from 92-95?
Hmmm, now who was the head coach then...

About the only thing I see is him saying he was going to use less I and more 2 TE sets.
I am trying to remember back... but I honestly don't remember him using a lot of 2 TE sets at all?
If anyone else can, please help me remember.
I do remember him going away from the I, which I think was a good decision.

No, I mean the offense of 2001 compared to 2002.

Isn't that about the time they moved Jimmy K from HB to TE & changed his number? I recall some 2 TE sets with Jimmy K in there. Probably with Goodwin.

    Hmmm, that might be right.
I think the Sauce was already a TE by this point, but there might have been some sets with Goodwin in there.
