Re: No wonder Vikings Cap Number Is Down!

However, COJO isn't completely wrong though, if you look at a few of the databases that have been provided on some links lately you will see that there are roster errors in them.

I was going over the Bengals stuff yesterday in this one trying to figure out who they might let go or keep in my analysis and they have several on there that aren't on the team nor have they ever been on the team.

Just goes to show you that you can't take anything you find on the web as the truth unless it is one of my posts.

And we have to sign rookies and possibly a free agent

I don't see use making a big splash

He doesn't mention, and says, "as of Saturday," that the cap number for all teams will be going up.
Like 7 or 9 million more available to each team I think...?
That alone should come close to taking care of draft picks...but still doesn't leave a whole lot for FAs.
We didn't sign any big contracts last year...or wait, we did...resigning McKinnie, EJ, Pat Williams etc...that must be where the money went.

Just trying to get closer to an accurate figure...any other ideas, info?

Im not sure about the figures.. But if that 14 mill is correct and we will be getting 7-9 more thats 20 plus

Thats a good deal to work with

we need to cut some of our wayyyyyy over paid players and increase it even more

You can also count on some more room from players taking a hike.

I bet if you really crunch the numbers (which we don't have) you will see that things like incentives weren't met and we will have someplace between the 14 mil and 30 mil mark.

I pick on Bryzcheapski alot, but he does keep us within the budget. I wouldn't worry about having CAP space to sign our new rookies and a vet like a DE or whatever we need, which isn't much by the way.

This may be true also. We may not even be the way advertised capwise.

However, I took it as an interesting point to make you think about what you wish for when it comes to FAs. Think about how different names are from actual production.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

We'll be more under the cap once Williamson and his 5-6 million dollar cap number leaves town.
