Re: No middle guy? No problem, yet.

clean slate is fine by me, but whomever is in the middle better know what theyre doing. because the year without beikert and cowart at MLB was disastrous, and i dont know if i could stand watching the defense through another year like that.

harris struggled when he played for the raiders in the middle, henderson struggled when he played for the viking in the middle and those werent 1 or 2 games for the season either, they both played an entire season or close to it in the middle to prove themselves and both lost their starting position the following year. i understand its a new coaching staff, and il be wiling to give each of them theyre second, if not third chance to play middle.

however henderson played pretty good last year at the weak side LB (better than he did at MLB) and i think he should stay in the same position to be better than last. id like to see what thomas or greenway could do as a MLB. thomas only had 2 games to show what he could do as a MLB, and i would think with experience in the cover 2 at auburn it might bode him and the vikes D well.

only reason i'd like to see harris in action is so that we get something out of him, since afterall we gave moss for him and a draft pick..

other then that, having any of them there is good enough for me if they earned it

Receiver Marcus Robinson made two of the prettiest catches of minicamp. In the morning session, he reached over defensive back Dustin Fox on a deep post pattern. And in the afternoon practice, Robinson made a one-handed grab over cornerback Fred Smoot on a 60-yard pass.
I wondering, "Who threw that ball?".

in another thread it had a tidbit from another news artical saying that "robinson made the play of the day, hauling in a 40-yard pass from veteran quaterback Brad Johnson" .. i'll try and find where it was. so in other words the pass was 40 yards, the play was 60

Re: No middle guy? No problem, yet.

We have 5 solid LBs, two who are very young. If 2 of these guys step up and play improved football the entire D will be very solid. If 3 step up we will be elite. It is nice to have two small holes on the defense. I just hope they meet expectations. If they don't I will put blame on Tomlin.

Did you guys see by the way that Tomlin is lonly ike 3 years older than Sharper! That's crazy.

This not having a middle linebacker is making me nervous.

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!
