No. 5 on the fan misery index
We're behind da Browns, Saints, Oilers/Titans, and Lions....
From ESPN, Page 2--by Jim Caple

5. Minnesota Vikings
Forget about the four Super Bowl losses, Korey Stringer, the Herschel Walker trade, the missed field goal in the 1999 NFC championship game, missing the playoffs after starting the 2003 season 6-0, Mike Tice scalping the Super Bowl tickets, the Whizzinator, the Love Boat cruise, the move to the Metrodome, Jim Marshall's wrong-way run and all those Fran Tarkenton infomercials -- what STILL really ticks off Minnesota fans is the knowledge, the absolute knowledge, that the Vikings would have gone to the Super Bowl (and won it this time, dammit!) if that damn referee had only gotten it right and called offensive pass interference on Drew Pearson during Roger Staubach's Hail Mary pass in the 1975 playoffs. @#&%! @#&%! @#&%!!!

I think what qualifies the crew in the bottom five spots is the closeness to greatness and titles ... Cleveland should have been in two of Elway's Super Bowls ... the Saints had a handful of solid regular seasons only to fall in first round playoff matchups ... the Lions had Barry "frickin" Sanders and got only one playoff win with him ... and the Oilers/Titans missed by a yard, lost a comback to Elway, lost the collapse to the Bills and lost a home game as the No. 1 seed to Montana and the Chiefs ... so they have all had reasons to be great and never gotten there while the Cardinals have always sucked.Wheres Arizona on the list? They've got to be some miserable SOBs down there.

I had to look that up (Link), because I thought the St. Louis Cardinals were pretty good for a while. I think you're correct though, because the St. Louis Cardinals only had a few years in the mid-70's when they were decent and pretty much have sucked in their Chicago, St. Louis, Phoenix, and Arizona days. Man, they almost make the Saints look good....while the Cardinals have always sucked.
