NFL rule - player substitutions
[url=http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/playersubs]From the NFL rule on player substitutions:
[quote]Players-Substitutions
...
5. With the exception of the last two minutes of either half, the offensive team, while in the process of substitution or simulated substitution, is prohibited from rushing quickly to the line and snapping the ball with the obvious attempt to cause a defensive foul; i.e., too many men on the field. The highlighted part is the key part of that rule. It has yet to be determined if in fact the Redskins did indeed make a substitution or simulated substitution during that play. So far it seems as if they did not. Even the Chiller has backed down on that one.

Re: NFL rule - player substitutions
Honestly....It would not have made any difference anyway. The Redskins beat us in the First Half hands down and in all areas. They showed they were hungry and wanted it more. We had no answer for the 8 man stacked box....and our offensive players did not perform up to par. Simply put....we were out-played, out-coached, and deserved to lose in spite of losing the ball on that 12 men on the field call. I credit Gibbs and his staff for seeing it.
Cheers!Where is Frostbite Falls Minnesota?
