Good read. I think they do need to change the rules of down by contact. I do not like it that they cannot review the play because the ref blew his whistle.

How can they award a fumble recovery to another team, if the whistle blows and guys stop trying to recover the fumble? This makes no sense. Now, when the whistle blows, guys won't stop playing because of a possible replay. Will personal fouls then be called for unecessary roughness after the whistle blew?
I understand the frustration, when a guy fumbles, but the ref blows the whistle and calls him down by contact. However, once the whistle blows, you are told to stop. How can they actually be thinking of rewarding a team the gets a half @ssed fumble recovery after the whistle blew?
