NFL to have World Anti-Doping Agency handle tests

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81fbe4d2/article/report-nfl-mulls-having-wada-handle-testing-if-lockout-lifted-?module=HP_headlines

NFL is considering having the World Anti-Doping Agency oversee testing of players for performance-enhancing drugs if a federal appeals court forces the league to end the lockout and implement rules for operating the league this season.

Re: NFL to have World Anti-Doping Agency handle tests

Be interesting to see what the players say on this but may well be a good step forward if it means all testing being done by an independent body.
Does anyone know if the list of banned substances tested for is based on the list used by WADA or would the NFL submit their own list as to what they consider to be banned drugs, substances etc ?

I would imagine the NFL submits their own list.

For example, the Diuretic the Williams' got in trouble for isn't illegal to take, but in the NFL it is banned. Same with certain protein powders. THey'd likely have final say in anything like that, just carried out by a third party.

Everyone realizes that this is the same body who failed to note several Olympians and Cyclists who consistently dope. While this sounds promising it represents a step backward IMO.

Re: NFL to have World Anti-Doping Agency handle tests

If Players and their unions would get their shit together and not try so hard to cover up CHEATING ... then stuff like the diuretic that Pat and Kevin took would not be illegal.

These people bitching and moaning about HGH tests and blood tests are full of shit ... and at least some of them are FLAT OUT GUILTY.

This is one position that I would side with the owners and commissioner on 100% and say they should no yield NO MATTER THE COST (even if it costs us a season).

I am tired of watching MLB, NFL, etc. with their outdated tests acting like they are actually giving a damn and trying to stop steroid use. Either let them all do it, or SHUT IT DOWN.

The Olympics stringent testing catches MANY (nothing will catch all, I know that), the WWE even has strong and solid testing.

It is time for major pro sports to stop covering this shit up, hold their ground, test blood and urine and punish offenders to the max (none of this 4 game or warning shit).
