Re: Next season wont be good...but Cowher will!!

I personally think Childress deserves a bit more time to develope the team. It just too early to make a clear judgment of what he can do. But if he doesn't work out next year it sounds like Cowher has not ruled out the possibility of coaching again.

Without doubt Childress deserves a second season though he will be under a lot of scrutiny this year. If we can see improvement, moves in the right direction and a sense that he has learnt from this year, then he will stay longer. However if there are no concessions to learning from this season then even those who have defended him may find it hard to do so again.
In some ways he's under more pressure for next season than ever he was this season

I've read a lot of threads knocking Childress and also supporting him. I'm just going to say that so far, I'm just not sold on him at this point. In the beginning of last season I was sure that this guy was going bring disipline and also credability to this organization. Besides making Tomlin our DC and pushing hard to get Hutch we have gone backwards. I hope that I'm wrong, but if I'm right dont think for a second that Wilf wont go after Cowher with cases of $.

    Just imagine everyone...frigg'n Cowher!!!!!!

P.S. Tomlin will already have accepted his HC position elsewere unless we resign him now as I said months ago!
Again, I think that we have to give our new head coach a year to see where this offense is, to be honest.

Re: Next season wont be good...but Cowher will!!

i always thought a coach needs three years. im of the mind after last season that if the team doesnt show overall improvement, he might be out after only 2. this year was horrible. bad penalties and more arrests on childress' clock this time. dont know if a 8-8 team will save his job next year. unless its a 8-8 much improved team, low penalties, a lot of production, but lost a couple close games (a tice like year ).

and if cowher can be brought in, wilf should do everything in his power to sign him here. even if childress has a 10-6 season but cowher is available, you get cowher. no doubt in my mind. could be perfect timing

ps Tomlin interviewing for the second time with dolphins.....and has interview with the steelers later next week. this guy is IMHO 80% gone.

Don't think there's any way the Dolphins hire Tomlin.
There are 5 candidates (I read this AM) in the 2nd round of interviews.

And the Steelers are going to either hire Whisenhunt or Grimm.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

well if he impressed the dolphins that much to bring in a second time (not required by
the rooney rule - as some were saying was the only reason he was brought in
    :P)
whose to say he can not impress the steelers. last week it was a 40% chance, the second interview and lined up interviews have raised that chance of him being gone imho

I would say it was a 0% chance last week and now it's a 1% chance.

You're both wrong, the correct answer is 11.75% (rounded).
