News And Notes In Vikings Bye Week

    Bye Week News And Notes

Some milestones that hopefully will be reached in the next game:

    - Adrian Peterson is 124 yards away from reaching 5,000 career rushing yards. Bill Brown, Chuck Foreman and Robert Smith are the only Vikings players to have reached that milestone.

    - Brett Favre needs only 74 yards and 1 TD to become the first QB in NFL history to reach 70,000 passing yards and 500 TDs.

    NEW PLAYER!
Vikings added TE John Nalbone to the practice squad on Tuesday. To make room for the former Miami Dolphin, the Vikings released CB Marcus Sherels

Those numbers on Peterson are amazing. Getting to 5K at the start of your 4th season is ridiculous. And to think he's only 25 years old.

I don't know if he'll ever catch up to Emmitt Smith, but it would be nice to see a very good RB hold that record, rather that one who got a whole lot of carries and just wouldn't break down.

Makes me all bitter about Barry not having the record all over again. Lol.

I love Barry Sanders. Everyone loves Barry Sanders!
Barry has put together the greatest highlight tape in NFL history.

I agree that I would rather see Barry with the rushing record, but Emmitt Smith is deserving too. It's not his fault that he was so damn durable.
